I'd add your question to one of the existing threads as it means a good knowledge base of BB problems and how to solve them builds up in a minimum number of threads.
We'll try and help if you do. Promise. :-)

hate being that twonk who digs up old threads though...
-
• #41504
Ask in one of the existing threads if they haven't already covered your specific problem - the solution will then add to the knowledge base in the appropriate place for future users.

Looks more like steel.

What you putting on it?
When I've putting it together in my head, I've considered the Fox Talas 160. Pretty sure it comes in a tapered steerer version. Not cheap though.
Talas doesn't come out in a 29 (maybe next year).
I've got a Fox F29 Fit RLC in G2 offset crown.

Harry, I love you but wtf is it with you and tiny tyres? As if the 21's on the Quinn weren't enough, now your 'about town' bike is going to rock handmade 22's?!
I have those on my summer round-towner, they're lovely .(but I only normally do 8 miles a day)

Inspired by Sumo's success with a Visp, I chanced £150 or so with some dude in China who certainly came up with what he promised, which was nice: Frame, forks, headset and seatpost.
The rest is as it looks.
Which, now I take a closer look is a weird stem length and angle which feels fine when you ride it...
Turns out that the eigthinch bars are an odd-ish size (26.0mm) which limited stem choice.
No holes for a bottle holder was annoying as I now have to cycle with what appears to be a bidon about to be fired from my arse.
And yes, I know that the Gatorskins logos don't line up with the valves... -

gold and purple aint for me i'm afraid.

:)
What do you mean??? The rest of the bike is awesome....!
I mean, all the gold bling offset with that regal purple - this is a bike fit for a king!Look, other than the fact that its colours would embarrass Huggy Bear, the aluminium fork is giving my hands nerve damage and every time I even glance at the front brake I fly off the front, what's not to like???
You really can't please some people...

ha! just teasing mate. my mate has one of those chinese ebay frames. the fork is steel, frame alu i think. They're not bad for the money he changed the fork for a carbon one and says its much better....
-
• #41519
I think upgrade number one will be a cheap carbon fork.
The problem is that I can't find one in gold and/or purple... -
• #41520
shame its not a BMX or you could rock these eye pleasers...
-
• #41521
I really like this. I'm about to get my frame powdercoated and I'm swithering over the colour scheme. This isn't helping.
-
• #41522
what kind of frame parts, etc.... obviously beautiful, but wouldn't look the same with a modern build.
-
• #41523
this arrived in the post yesterday (sorry Melon...) and I am getting my head round a build. I am thinking about going for Truvativ Omniums as I think they will suit the frame and they are meant to be super stiff. However I have heard reports of crank slap on frames with thicker chain stays. The Hinde frame has mahusive stays. They are rectangular though, so maybe they will be thinner then an oval of the same size, hmm.
any thoughts or advice for better cranks?

• #41524
just get a wider BB? i don't understand.
-
• #41525
could also go for wider hubs like goldtec which will move your chainline out
both threads don't really help, thought there may be a thread like this where I could just ask quickly
