  • protip: there is no paint on your cranks or rims.

    it's ok

huh? pretty sure that black stuff is paint....

Paint stripper paired with steel wool/ brush for stripping frame and fork. As for rims and cranks, more likely that they're anodized which stripper will have no effect on. If you want those stripped a bath in any caustic solution will do the job nicely.

cranks powder coated black, rims powder coated oringe then i sanded them down a bit and sprayed 2 coats of matt black, no clear coat

would the stripper and paint mess up the nipples on the rim? guess not but i don't want to risk it...

  • Just weighed the bike- 7.4kg.

I have to put the chain and the bar tape on, that's going to bring me up to 7.7kg.

    200g must go.

  • lighter saddle and tyres?

  • I think I could get 100g off the saddle, then changing the bars and the brakes would lose another 100g.

That would be a total cost (new) of around £500.

  • What tubes and tyres?

  • Vittoria Open Corsa Evo CX and latex tubes.

If this was weight weenies, you would simply post a spec list, and receive various ruinous solutions.

Upgrade saddle to Ti rail or carbon rail?
Lighter cassette? (not alu though, thats a bit silly)
    Stem upgrade to NewUltimate/KCNC etc...

Difficult to see possibilitys with the specs TBH.

  • Cannondale System Six, 58cm
    Control Tech System Six stem
    FSA Gossamer bars, 42cm
    FSA SLK 31.6 seat post
    SRAM Force shifters and mechs
    Easton EA90 SLX wheels
Vittoria Open Corsa Evo CX and latex tubes
    Planet-X carbon and Ti skewers
    Ultegra 12-27 cassette
    Cannondale BB30 Carbon cranks
    Speedplay Zero SS pedals
    KMC SL chain
    Ultegra brakes
    Cinelli bar tape
    Fizik Arione saddle

I reckon it's going to be bars, saddle and brakes that get it under 7.5kg.

  • fun / pub bike :)

  • you got to much money :P

  • ok it not a leave behind dont care if it gets stole pub bike more a fun cruise to boozer bike..that stays in eye contact while i get drunk

  • Judging by the geo on this it looks like it takes a 650 front end! Maybe even a 24'

  • Id say 24", currently it looks like its trying to run away from itself. Please remedy this.

  • i noticed straight away, but geo doesn't actually look to bad to me, just looks a bit odd

  • geo doesn't actually look to bad to me

now, i'm no expert, but, what are you talking about? it looks like someone slightly too big sat on it, or its an optical illusion which makes it look like its doing a wheelie, with its front wheel on the ground, and that stem...

  • i said its not to bad i did not say it looked good....

  • I don't really know what I'm doing....

geo doesn't actually look to bad to me

    .

  • well done you edited my post, what's your point?

  • It makes more sense edited that way?

  • That would be a total cost (new) of around £500.

Planet x Ultra Light FORGED Brake Callipers £50 225g -> saving about 110 grams

I'm guessing Michelin Latex? A swap to Challenge Superlit Latex Corsa Tube £16 61g -> saving about 28 grams.
    A swap to Veloflex Corsa £60 185g to 205g -> saving about 110grams to 70 grams

  • Eat less pie, do more exercise - ??? grams

    Cost neligible

  • haha ok if you say so :P
