Swapping wheels from my other bike. + Syncros seatpost, Brooks/flite saddle, Stronglight 2000, cinelli 1a and risers. probably.
The Cougar fork is fucking lush, but I'm thinking of putting in some different 1" forks as I need to run a front brake for Brighton. Thinking something carbon. we'll see...
Look forward to seeing that in Brighton. Sweet frame.

Are you replacing that nice tom crowther or is this one more of a modern race bike? That price feels bit high for a condor to me. Id prefer a rourke or a mercian for that money.... without trying to up the anti, how about a pegoretti duende (marcelo but with socketed seat stays). could be got on the cycle scheme at a push and im sure he could be paint it in a way that didnt make small children cry.
Just another bike for the stable but one that won't give me maintenance ball ache. For that money the Condor and Mercian are almost indistinguishable in terms of tubing and build quality, the difference is that Condor is local, quicker and more knowledgable about bike fit.

Wow, 56/9. The thought of using that ratio on the road.. I'm sure either the chain or driver would give before long though.

Both will be fine, they get much less stress from my big ring than they do in their proper application with a chainwheel half the size.
It's a straight BMX hub with a 14mm axle cut down to 120mm and tapped for M10 bolts to hold it in the frame. There's a couple of 5mm spacers in there too to get the OLN dimension right.

I recognise those forks...
I sold em to Seb for £40.
Someone else later on really wanted them, PMed me about them. For a cougar. Can't for the life of me remember who though.

I'm a student at Sussex, so down in Brighton, but live in Norfolk, the lovely Sheringham. So am Norwich way a good deal of the year.
@Skully, yeah, picked the bike up off him Saturday. They're blinding forks, and look awesome on the bike, I am going to try and keep them for when I'm back in norfolk as I don't need a brake there, but we'll see what the finances are saying!

Sounds sweet. Black 75s will look mint.
...until heel rub starts to make them look overly worn

the fork doesnt suit the GT. something carbon would be better in my opinion.

Or you could just visit your nearest signwriting people and ask for a small offcut of clear laminate. Get a few pieces and replace it when you feel the need. I use it to protect my frames and phone/camera screens.

Or just fucking ride the damn thing.

Or go to the MacTac wholesaler and blag an end-of-roll of whatever colour you need, assuming a: you do their deliveries and b: two of the warehousemen are keen cyclists. I was only suggesting actually buying the stuff for people who don't have such facilities.

Fair enough. I find it silly the prices people are charged for a very small amount of vinyl. I happily give away any offcuts I have to friends if they need it.
Thanks and all but actually I prefer steel forks because they're more responsive, less flexible and aesthetically I think they look better on the bike. I had a Profile Design SC Carbon fork and it was fine but I prefer the steel fork I had before that and I much prefer the steel fork I have on the bike now. So no I'd like to think I'm not some random kid with no real idea as you put it but thinking that is your prerogative.
