Is it not quite bad form to be that harsh in Current Projects? I'm not saying you can't give any -ive feedback, but shouldn't it be more along the lines of "not a fan of skinny forks on OS frames, it might look better with *x *instead of y, or;
If someone starts a thread just about there bike, then there's an acceptance of all comments welcome, but here? IMO current projects has a certain etiquette.
My hero. * le swoon *

Swapping wheels from my other bike. + Syncros seatpost, Brooks/flite saddle, Stronglight 2000, cinelli 1a and risers. probably.
The Cougar fork is fucking lush, but I'm thinking of putting in some different 1" forks as I need to run a front brake for Brighton. Thinking something carbon. we'll see...
sell those forks to me!

Hmm, yeah I bought the rims ages ago and kind of wish I'd just gotten two Deep Vs.
Sell me your rear wheel ;)

Won't be building new wheels for a while to be honest. So no.

Alright, they're coming off as soon as I find some nice 1" carbon ones (Drilled, road) and I refuse for such awesome forks to be drilled!
Pm me to discuss...

regarding the fort, I think the Brooks, however comfy, just doesn't sit right with the rest.
I have a love hate relationship with ergostems. You seem real stoked with the build, so that's all that matters. -

Flite, Arione, Concor, I just think the Brooks (I know they're comfy) doesn't fit, I have a Ti swallow on my current bike, which I think I just get away with. I know Sumo's selling a nice Ti Flite, which would look dope...some crabon forks might look noice as well!

Hate Arione saddles, did the carbon fibre thing before too and it's all well and good but just got sick of it, steel fork feels much nicer to ride.

find some bladed steel forks, im not averse to skinny forks to fat tubing but i think it would look better.

I was going for the Cannondale look... The original Fort fork would have been bladed steel though.

Steel forks feel nicer to ride than carbon? Now I am starting to see you are just some random kid with no real idea, hence the mishmash build.
As long as you like it....
Enjoy your bike!

ok so i got my first ever bmx out the garrage, i been told i got it for my 9th birthday, so i have owned it 10 years, i think its time i bring it back to life
its in need of some restoring obviusly, apart from the slow puncture on the front i got it rolling at least
needs a long lay back post and some how get the dodgey paint off i did when i was like 12 i think, so i get it all blinging in chrome
will be a slow project because of my other bikes, but will be sweet when its done
I wasted a lot of time/money tricking out the 90's BMX of my youth, it was a lot better bike than your is too! But lets face it, even if it was a better bike (something crmo at least) its a pile of junk compared to the stuff you can get these days.
I would just forget about it, it is not a nice bike.

I'd just keep it ratty, I like the way it looks now.
-
• #40144
I wouldnt drop too much money on it either, but my readin of nowhere fast's post was that it is/was chrome and he painted ontop?
If so what did you paint it with? I'd be inlined to get some paint stripper and test it out underneath. Ed took the clear laqer off his old Bianchi Pista, so maybe pm him.

The Fort probably came with the round legged Unicrown fork, same as my steel one.

is it for rollers or something? -

is it for rollers or something?
Precisely. 56/9 gives 50mph at 100rpm.
-
• #40148
ahh, thought so.
I take it it's not a regular hub? -
• #40149
i think it might be.
i remember him saying he used a bmx free-wheel and welded it or something similar. -

Just sent a newly aquired BobJackson frame off to Vaz for frame work and re-spray. Waiting on Old School decals to turn up so should be a few weeks.
In the mean time I tried my hand at building my first wheel for it:
