well, I had a go at covering the Easton Bars earlier.
Tried one side with some old Fizik Dual which is comfy as hell, but maybe a bit to bulky for the job. If i go with tape i think standard Fizik will be better, and less bulky on the rounded ends./attachments/35330
/attachments/35329Other side, i used a split Strong V grip cut down and used with a full one to cover up to the step up. Can you get long lengths of grips (2mm ideally) that you can cut down as required?
/attachments/35327
/attachments/35328Both are a bit bodged at his stage, as i was using old stuff and i'm not decided on which, if either to go for. Any thoughts?? Anyone got any tried and tested, or see them in action and i'm overlooking an option.
appreciate any info.
sorry 'bout the shit phone pics

- Bartape conundrum *
Both look good in my opinion but have you considered trying some black cloth tape? Maybe double wrapped?

My first time posting here. This is my 1976 SB numbered Team raleigh track that I ride to work everyday.
It could probably do with some white Cinelli bartape but I quite like the crazy fade stuff it has on it right now... It has a mix of Campag pista and SR pista hardware but what the hell, I love it as it is!
Nice!, I've finally finished and ridden mine (posted here a few weeks back in prog) SB Team Track.

∆∆ Cheers, I'll have a look into cloth tape.
I'm also trying to persuade myself whether or not to leave the bars bare. -

that is some serious angle on the brake lever, you must have long fingers!
But very nice, clean build...

Could try cricket bat grips?
Pretty sure the Soyo ones are long but only one size...
I know Brompton do long grips, but they're pretty thick, so probably not right for carbon drops. -

yeah it does look steep, it's fine though! it's a Dirty Harry would like something a bit nicer, maybe a Paul.

Excellent, Cloth tape, soyos and cricket bat grips. Good call guys, cheers.

I just had a look at one of my old bat grips, and seems like it would work.
I used to rubber up my bat handle, so often had quite thin rubbers on the inside (OOh matron). that might do it...

After 3 months working at Evans, I finally get my staff discount, and went for a brand new Veloce brakeset for the pricey sum of £21.02, result;
(The original single pivot Chorus was really appalling with modern brake hood).
Glad you appreciate the thought that went into it. Kind of sad to be finished though!
