Some lovely things I've missing in here lately ... Regal's feather is just mad lovely! I had an idea I wanted bilaminates on my custom frame but let DY talk me out of it and went for very minimal fillet-brazing instead. And the regal - 853 logo is wicked! Nice work Mr Feather, really nice.
Looking forward to seeing what dmczone is collecting Mavic for...

Love it. Didn't Obree have a 'Righty' fork though? Does this affect things at all the track bankings?

It's science, innit? The right side of the bike is travelling faster, so you put the frontal area on the left where the airflow is slower to minimise drag.

every time i see the progress it's more and more exciting. i think when you finish it, and when you're done with whatever you've got to do with it, put it out on ebay and make a bloody fortune!

can i say, with all due respect, this looks tragic and antiquated.

• #37065
agreed
-
• #37066
does tranquil and antiquated mean pointless?
if so.
agreed.I want a bike built chrobin..... you're clearly the man to ask now.
-
• #37067
but is he the man to build your bike, clearly capable of building anything.
-
• #37068

-
• #37069

it still work actually, the cylinder thing is actually a spring, so when you want to change gear, the chain simply get pulled and shorten the spring in order to change gear.
it's just a different way of derailling the chain.

sticking with tragic

What steering geometry is it? Pics make the head angle look super steep.
-
• #37074
I was thinking this - looks twitchy - weight forward as well. But i don't know much about track cycling.
-
• #37075
Weight forward will actually slow the steering, so maybe he's been clever with what looks like an 80° head angle and very little trail.
getting further along with the build, just need a BB that fits then i'll finish up. I'm also getting a rear rack, changing the brakes to 600 tricolour, getting a shorter stem and getting a B17 copper riveted black saddle
