^ I like the bar/stem why would you change it? real nice frame too. you thinking black wheels or classic silver/stainless?
-
• #37032
^^^ loving those wheels, that Nag is getting a fine pair of shoes!

They feel kinda flexy (alu road bars, cinelli campione del mondo) and i can hear some creaking when sprinting real hard (helps a little when i take them off and lube and tighten the bolts but they get loose after a while) I'd atleast want to try some proper steel track bars.. Someone is selling alpina carbon track bars here in Finland, would be pretty badass to put those on eh? :D
I was thinking black wheels and maybe all black parts... could sandblast the cranks & seatpost at school and paint them black... would probably look real good with classic silver parts too but i'd like to try something different. we'll see...

^^^^^ I really like those weels too, thinking about something similar for the Vivalo. black/grey low profile rims and dura-ace or suzue hubs or something...

vivalo sees a slow gear and a fender. hmmm

it aint that slow if you can spin it... im changing to a bigger chainring tho as i moved to a new place and it's more flat and less traffic in here so less braking & accelerating...
and im not interested in building show-bikes, this is my only good bike at the moment and i ride it in any weather

Poomf!
yeah well could look nice with all black, or all silver. either way really. creaking bars is annoying so fair one. maybe some nitto b123 or 125s then? the dura ace/araya wheelsets are pure lust.

A bar swap isn't going to fix the creak, that comes with the stem.

Just put decals on the carlton, bit wonkey but not bad for a first go.
just gonna let it all have a good dry tonight then lacquer it tomorrow.

Bear in mind that while the steel Nitto are stiffer, they're pretty uncomfortable while riding on the street everyday.

They are indeed. I changed from some alu road bars to nittos and they are harsh, i thought it wouldn't make that much difference but it does.
now though I'm wintering my bike up with some porteury type things and a lower gear, drops will return in spring.

More stuff for the British Lightweight - reasonably light TA crankset (inc. dust cap);
GB stem for the Mafac Racer brakeset;
Lots of polishing to go thought.

like that gb stem ed, dapper.

• #37044
Nice, Ed.
What frame? (excuse me, I'm mobile and can't waste megabitz on browsing) -
• #37045
it;s something dumb. don't worry out it.
-
• #37046
ed it needs to be said that you'd better utilised that stems cable stop?
-
• #37047
Who says he won't, he's always going on about fixed with two brakes.
-
• #37048
A HGS Cycles frame from the 50's, pretty light at 2700g (inc. fork), and it won't be fixed, it will have a 3 speed derailleur (1/8th).

Mafac Racer centre pulls will feature in the build, he already said that.
