i thought you did find a donor bike for it, no?
oh, and 49/13? come on, take it easy! :)) -
• #35078
yes i did, same tubing roadbike size 61 so i figured the tubes would be long enough but the 59 track bike needed longer tubes somehow, about 15mm too short they were :(

How are you able to hold the grip properly?! look like there's barely any room.
-
• #35081
all hipsters have small hands. Im suprised you Eddy the Gospel didn't know that... tshhhh
-
• #35082
also how does he use the lever?
-
• #35083
the under the bar approach, like pulling a choke on a Austin Metro
-
• #35084
had to put the brake there because it is the fattest part of the bar and that 31.8 is barely holding on. Besides, with that narrow bar i can easily reach the lever while still holding to the upper part of the riser. Long fingers.

don't want a long cage derailleur. Anyone done something similar or got anything to sell?
I've got a 105 GS RD-5501 if it's any help, also one of those Alivio/Altus things with the mid cage and big tension pulley, not sure what exact model number until I pull it out of the parts bin.

Dylan, for descriptions you should learn from the master...

that was the result of the truck as well as a crack in the stem. I managed to turn my body into it so I didn't faceplant/smash the carbon.
-
• #35098
oh right, I looked and thought they had bent from your brute force....
you come away in one piece then? his fault, yours or the (lack of) brakes?
-
• #35099
bad luck, get well

yeah I'm in 1 piece. Joints hurt yesterday but lots of vodka solved that. His fault entirely, I was passing on the right as he was in stationary traffic then when I was almost level with the cab, he turned right without indicating or looking. All I could do is shout fuck and turn sideways to save the bike before hitting the side of the cab and landing a massive puddle. He got straight out and helped me up and was really apologetic and genuinely worried I wasn't hurt, offered up all his details and gave me his wifes phone number so I could sort out money. I'm glad the parts that needed replacing weren't expensive as I fear it might not as been so easy to get £140 for the stem instead of the £40 it currently is in the sale or £150 for the forks, £150 for the wheel etc.
Just received the check from him today so its all good.
49/13 havenot put much thought into the gear yet, just screwed on what i had laying around to get it rolling untill i decide what components i am going to put on there, i think i am going to take the parts from the colnago and hang that on the wall untill i can find a tubeset for it which is extremely hard to find
