In some areas, Chorus/Athena is a distinction without a difference.

Err, is this some kind of weird lock?? It's brazed on, so I need to remove it from my recent aquisition.

It's a cigar cutter. Is it a Cuban frame?

Is it one of those things that sticks between the spokes so the wheel can't turn? Dont know how it would lock by the picture, you can see some bicycles that have them around the place.(although they dont come brazed on its an accessory) cant find a pic or a link, because I dont know what to search for, sorry.

Found one reference to a clou rear wheel lock. But no clue as to how it would work. Off with it! Also looks like I got a front fork dynamo braze-on. Maybe I should keep the bits, keep it functional.

It's for de-stoning olives. Is it an Italian frame?

Scroll down and you'll see a bit about a similar lock.
From a time and place where you didn't have to be so secure so largely useless today i'd say. -

That's the exact page I landed on too. Branded "Trelock", but obviously the same, same logo.

Thanks! It's Gorilla Hattara and I really like it, simple, clean and great to ride. Color is also nice, anthracite, so it's not all black.

Impressively rusty Holdsworth which will soon go through a SS conversion/go back on ebay. Can anyone roughly guess its year of birth from the pics only?

Come on, its definatly a capricorn. look at the bars!
Yeah, it's really nothing special. It all adds up quick, but individually no part is expensive or hard to obtain.
The frame was £15 from the classifieds here. Bars/grips/brake levers/chain guard/mud flap/bell/bottle/cage all Velo Orange/Freshtripe stuff. The cranks are the cheapest single speed I could find new (Sturmey Archer). The pannier rack/stem/seat post came from a beater from the classifieds (was to be the base of this project, but it has a stupid French BB shell). The wheels are a £39 ebay set. Kick stand £5 from ebay. The mudguards are some £13 set that came painted metallic grey that I dremmelled back to metal. The rack is readily available. Pedals are from my Globe Roll 2 with some ebay straps. The saddle bags are £18 equestrian ones from US ebay. Pump is a current Zefal one. Brakes are a cheapy £19 per pair set and the head badge is a Royal Engineer's hat badge from ebay :)
The only thing that is slightly unusual is the seat. I got it from ebay and I have no idea what it is. It has the Brooks oval logo on the sides, but it also has a taj mahal stamped into it. Not sure whether it's a complete knock off or a real brooks top that's been fitted to another frame. But then, you can get a similar thing here for $29 http://www.hiwheel.com/parts/index.htm
