Looks good Chris!! I am proud that you left the spoke card on for the picture!
I love these TAs cranks!Loic
Ha! Yes, Team DaDa forever I reckon. The TA's are a dream.
Thanks for the bartape advice too. I'm trying to really limit my leather buying so I think I might skip the Brooks. If there was a synthetic leather tape I might try that because I love the look, but I think the synthetic wouldn't have the same durablility. The Fizik seems like a good option. Black I reckon.
Also, I should have said before that this bike is incredibly nice. Well done Reeen, you deserve it!

@serk: yeah, i'm with loic on that.
seems he not just motivated you but also had a good influence. very classy as it turned out.
but pedals with cages are a bit of a must, i must say ;)
bike jumbles or the odd sale in classifieds should sort you.put brown leather bar tape on it and brown strappies and u have a classic. have a look at that from the porns to see whot i mean.
loic can help you wrapping the tape, so that it doesn't slip. he seems good at that. *whispers: just take care he starts at the right end ;)
i for one, have to have a go at my fizik as the wrapping (<not my job!) wasn't tight enough and started slipping already. meh!

see this is what happens when people have their chain too tight.
Bought one of Shop 14s new stainless sprockets yesterday. Beautiful, shiny, nice sprocket. Supposedly same quality as 953. Got it pre-release so got it cheaper than it will be once it's on sale. Unfortunately only a few hours later, after North Drinks, this happens... I buy a new sprocket, snap a chainring. Fail...

Building this up for spring/summer. Bought it as a complete fixed build a few years ago from a friend, then left it sitting dormant since I built up something new. Decided to build it up as a kind of TownBike(c). Got a rear pannier rack, mudguards, Rolls San Marco dark brown seat... Just need classic-looking cranks, gum or white wall tyres, and bar tape to match the seat. Any ideas/input welcome.
Frame is a bit of a mystery, the only Monark I can find is a Swedish company that seems to have made this kind of thing in the 50's/60's but the top tube on mine says Made In England... but this might've just been stuck on by a previous owner, along with the "Guaranteed Genuine English Lightweight" transfer on the seat tube.

Ha! If anything it was slack chain that caused it.

I have no idea. I'm no powerhouse so it must be a case of bad luck, slack chain, fatigued metal.
