  • That Carlton is really nice :) good job.

  • Chris, check out hubjub, freshtripe and forum sponsors SJS. Plant-x are also pretty good I believe.

  • cheers mate, really like the seatbolt/stays

The seat bolt is currently a skateboard bolt as it takes a weird kind that I couldn't find (at Condor). It's working though.

  • It is very nice build indeed.
    It only needs some Autosol.

aha...I typed that and then deleted thinking, ah, he just hasn't given the finishing killer polish yet..

  • Today I have been mostly noticing that I need new cable outers on the bike I'm working on, and black simply won't do. New SRAM S500 brake levers going on this:

And because these things are "projects", not just simple little maintenance jobs, I think I'll put some Cinelli bars and a 1A stem on there from the parts bin, which also means I'm eventually going to have to change the seat post too...

  • Finally sunlight :)

Some outdoor pics of the 29er.

  • Finally sunlight :)

beaut. you get toe overlap? tolerable on the street, but trails, no thanks.

    beautiful bike, though

  • here's my current project.

  • I don't get it...

  • I don't get it...

it's a sexy broad with a gun. easy, serious. back to bikes soon enough!

    edit: fixed?

  • Cough...sexist!...cough.

  • If you're going to get excited about winter sports, I would have thought speed skating would be the one, given the direct crossover with cycling

Women's team pursuit semi final on now

  • That looks awesome! Do you ride up those mountains?!

    Thanks.

    More around the sides ;)

There is a few routes around the tops, further into the mountains. I hope to build/buy an enduo full sus for this though.

There is some slight toe overlap (ainly becuse of the fat tyres), but its not too bad. The cranks are only 175's and the headtube angle is pretty slack (70.5). I dont expect it to bother me.

  • I came to terms with the fact the orange Holdsworth was miniscule and this is what I currently ride.

Used to have a half-link chain, then went back to a regular one and totally forgot about where you have to break it; consequently I am one link shorter than I feel I should be.

    That is lovely mate.

get yourself a Black Jag & a flite on it, the seat stays are lovely.

look forward to seeing it around camberwell.

  • That is quite the view you've got there mr smallfurry, what part of London is that?? ;)

  • That is quite the view you've got there mr smallfurry, what part of London is that?? ;)

its the leafy end of Stoke Newington.

  • New front rack for the Bob Holiness.

the Bob Holiness will get Ted's magic touch on modifying the frame; fixing the overtightened seatpost bolt, add eyelit to able to put a rack on the fork, and lastly, a piece of metal on the chainstay for the coaster brake to grab on instead of an adaptor.

  • Nice rack ed :)

  • That rack looks awesome

  • The Holdsworth is coming along nicely, sadly the headtube is worn away to the point that the headset doesn't 'grip' anymore, that mean I need to send it off to mercian for repair, shame really as I like to keep the original paint and decals, right now it's shimmed up for the Tweed Ride.

the new Velo Orange wheelsets is actually impressive, well made, really light and a wonderful mirror finish shine to them resemblance the classic steel wheel of the 50's, perfect for classic project like this, the tyres (conti touring) is temporary until I get some grand bois cypres 30c tyres that'll go brilliantly with the frame and wheelset (and fill up the frame nicely).

best part about the wheelset? the price = £135.

seatpost is again temporary as it's a 26.6 and hard to find a classic looking one.

  • Ed, your girlfriend has a fantastic rack up front.

  • Ed where are you getting the grand bois cypres tyres from?

  • cheers
