  • @east ender: lovin it, though the coloured rims where nice as well, this seems way more appropriate for the fancy frame.

  • I'm all for conversions.
    Conversions= win.
    fixed road bike= win.
    geared bikes= win.
    All bikes= win.

+1, nuffin' wrong with that... but (IMO) that 'rello hardly fits the bill...
It's just too nice to be alternative. I also run a conversion as my beater,
    love it to bits.

  • Call me a cnut, but im with scoble on this one.
Beautiful bike and its not as though he has eliminated the chance of running it geared.
If you enjoy running it single speed, i dont see a problem.

    There, i said it ;-)

    Converting a Pinarello is wrong!

    I didn't convert it. Here :-P
Some butcher in France splits them. It had all pantographed parts, but the were listed before the frame.

I've got the Record groupset already. Only the levers are missing.

Chain isn't slack anymore. Fuck the knees - 14T

  • Congratulations Louis, your Telfer monstrosity has made it into the BSNYC Friday quiz
    http://bikesnobnyc.blogspot.com/2010/02/bsnyc-friday-frumunda-quiz.html

  • And straps! otherwise riding fixed with no foot retention is just dangerous.

    Nice bike by the way!

I'd say it is dangerous. You need two brakes; one front brake works, and your feet on a fixed wheel does too, but I think you need to be attached to the pedals.

It has a coaster brake = 2 brakes.

  • these aren't really projects either, i've just finished building them. i just need to build my wheels now, the hubs turned up today. The front is going to be a Royce ultralight 20 hole laced 2x bladed spokes to a 50mm carbon tubular rim, with the rear a Royce venus 24 hole laced 2x round spoke, tied and soldered on another 50mm carbon rim.

if i may ask, why do you need to addicts? why not sell the r15 and get some top end components on the r3/2/1?

  • pretty sure i'm not missing something here.

Apart from the fact, that it wasn't converted?
I build it. Found the bare frame and build it up. If I knew how to build a geared bike, I'd build one.
Once I've got everything needed, I'm gonna revive it for summer.

is dura-ace and sram force not good enough for you?

  • You know me by now Murts, I'm arsin about, I'd rather ride a white Condor Pista!

    fuck you sloppy bollocks!

  • is dura-ace and sram force not good enough for you?

thats pretty good. but i was just wandering why you had two similar frames built into two similar bikes.

    no offence meant

  • @ Crane, thats fucking nice man, top job.

    The Pinarello needs gears, sorry.

  • someone i know is putting together a bike on an 1970 KhVZ Special edition track "Sport" 57cm frameset. here is "before":

Framest was in a quite poor condition aesthetically, so he had it stripped and media blasted:

    Then painted:

Thank God he's going the classical way - so shallow rims and some HF hubs are on the way, as well, as Rolls saddle. Also, classical KhVZ track cranks w 53 chairing.

As usual, so whole deal with frame, stuff and all the works was around GBP 100... :)

  • Got my new project today..

Hopefully it will make the streets of Copenhagen/Sjaelland/Denmark unsafe this summer.

  • That looks great, im starting a project, well started 2 days ago, stripping etc. Only just found this forum, as this is my 1st project will get some pics up asap.

    Cheers

    Chris

    Did you buy enough beer?

  • @scorch, looks like a nice frame

  • It has a coaster brake = 2 brakes.

It used to. He got a different wheelset (fixed/free) so its not got the coaster brake anymore.
