It only needed a new seat post not a full *FOFFA*fication:-)

Only joshing with you, how does it ride?
I don't think the electrical tape should change the ride too much...

Easy, I haven't got the yellow bar tape and matching tyres on there yet.

Needs a new seat post, and would look lovely with some salmon coloured bennetto bar tape. Very special looking bike. Whats the plan..?.......

Regardless whether the paint job is too the buyers taste or not, there has to be some recognition of how unique and unusual it is. Look at that detail on the top tube. That's exquisite!

Sorry, but I have to jump on the 'I love that paintwork bandwagon'. Pure 1970's, like a re-sprayed panel van.

^ Exactly! Certain styles evoke certain eras. There are so many other second hand frames that would have fit the bill. Yes, it's that person's bike and they can do whatever they want, but damn, that's like taking Swift's original writings then smoking the hemp paper it was written on to see if you could get high.

That paint was nice, but don't worry too much. I've been thinking about doing a custom paint job on one of my bikes. Masking up some Paul Smith-esque stripes or something. My tourer and fixed are powdercoated though, and my MTB is still factory-fresh.

Ha, I remember when you'd just got that gorgeous bike and you said in current projects that you thought the paintjob was "gay"* and you were gonna foffa it. Many wise people advised you a) not to be such a macho/homophobic weirdo and b) for the love of Sheldon not to kill the puppy.
I can't beleive you're such a twunt.
*I'm 75% sure that's what you said

Man, what a shame about that paint job. I even like the pale pink, blue and pearl, especially with the chrome. Silver seatpost, black bartape and a Shimano 600 crank are the only things I'd change. Looks quite unremarkable now.

If you liked neither the colour nor the original groupset, then why even buy it in the first place? Crying shame

I bought this Graham Weigh badged Vitus -
Not much to do to it. I removed the rather crowded decals and after a clean it is now looking like this -

Lovely! Saddle and bar tape look good a bit darker, and saddle angle looks better ;-)

Needs tan sidewall tyres but other than that it's perfect.
