if any one wants to swap stems (looking for a chrome cinelli) let me know
I think if you're going to use a silver seatpost, the black stem will work wonderfully if you only wrap the bottom half of the drops. Just a thought.

"The" seatpost is not needed, the tubeset is the version with the rounded top section of seat-tube, it takes a standard 27.2. The wheels are DP18's on Goldtecs.

I saw this through the window of a friends house & was thinking of offering the neighbors a few quid so I could do a build for the girlfriend. Any idea what it is, or even if it's worth doing? Couldn't quite work out the name...
It's an early dawes, for a while in the mid sixties? seventies they introduced that bumped top tube, raliegh copied it with the 'bomber' in the 80's ?
I had a frame like this my dad built up for me with cowhorns on it, It had a 24' backwheel and a 26 front wheel, by Dad brazed in a second rear bridge to bring the brake down to the smaller wheel. It almost ended up with curved 'etchins' style forks that had a kink in them too, (my uncle had made a set for a bike previously) though I didn't like them.

Jambon, I think that Mercian is an absolute stunner of a frame, but please please please change the bar tape cos the mismatching blue looks a terrible (IMHO).
cheers
