This is going to be my new bike, built by Ted (SuperTed) James.
Made from Columbus Zona - the down and toptube are teardrop shaped.
It should be ready for painting tomorrow!

So, Bike is basically on the road.
Ignore the seat, seatpost, and Carlsberg shim, they are for illustrative purposes only!
I have a black charge saddle, and Im awaiting my black seatpost in the post...
Cheers!

Clips no straps?
Do those work well while brakeless? -

They're actually not bad at all. You got some chunky shoes and they clasp quite well...
I haven't written off a brake though, I'm gonna give it a go for a week or so to see how *I go, but its definitely on the agenda.
Looking forward to getting the right saddle and height on there though!
How did I start writing italic? What the hell did I press!?

Just won this on eBay - NOS Daccordi Track Frame, As pristine as the day it was built, bar the dust from storage!
Nice, but so was also the price it went for... ;)

didn't Ed get a new bike?
despite the calamity of the topic the missus have made, here's the finished build;
Pretty ugly, but it does the job exactly, was given the blue Fizik bar tape for free, so might as well use it (originally going to have black Fizik).
still need to cut the steerer down a bit once I got the position dialled nicely, I find those Modolo brake levers pretty comfortable, my Father used to have it on his old Peugeot PX-10, imaging my surprise when I saw a pair of the same one going for cheap on ebay.
rode it around Wimbledon, this is what I had to says about it, stiff in the right place, but still comfortable to ride, lots easier to ride too, carbon fork made steel fork feel somewhat spongy while cornering.
It's a lots lighter than my old bike, but I gather that down to the carbon fork and the cockpit really, the frame is only 100g lighter than a 631 tubing frame.

May I ask is the frame the best thing to buy first when you start a project? Is there any particular order or do most buy everything in one go? Thanks

I think it looks nice sir. The blue is abit bright but as you said, you didn't want to waste it.

Def the first thing to sort out. Make sure it's the right size and everything else will be a lot easier.
Best thing to do is to go to drinks or on a ride and have a go on a few peoples bikes. -

Frame first, then buy the compatible parts of choice after.

Two hoods but no brake, Ed??
thats just silly.

any frame as long as it fit you, and take a 700c wheels (27" wheels frame are fine, but it'll handle pretty slow with 700c).
here's something you can read about finding the right size frame;
-
• #21072
Before I read it, what is 700c? Circumference? (sp)
-
• #21073
Oh and are most parts compatible? Or is it try and test it with your frame?

the key is in the name; hood.
I like riding on the hood most of the time, no way i'm spending £35 for a "dummy" brake levers.
