  • But you have the wrong way, you started from the stem... is that OK because its rubber?

Hmm I thought it was the wrong way round, might get annoying when it starts to unwrap at the corners. Could be wrong, though(t).

  • I tried that once, good idea on using glove otherwise your hand ***will ***stink of inner tube.

smelly riding gloves once nearly cost me a now defunct relationship...

    its a long story.

  • did she question where had you put your fingers???

  • not so long a story, apparently.

  • haha

  • Finally got this conversion together, got frame on the 'Bay for a decent price but sort of blew the budget on the build. Frame has decent length drop outs so had a good choice of gear ratios but went for 48x17.

Thanks to the valuable Transmission Database thread for my chainline, it might be a mil out but it's good enough for me.

Sorry I don't know how to embed the pics in the post - it's probably ridiculously simple but then so am I.

Nice! you have some nice parts on there, sugino 75, thomson, phil wood, nitto?

  • haha

Max... that is a true, if tasteless, story.

  • back in summer my polo gloves stink so much, one my gf got piss off, he told off, wash the gloves and let me for a day without them, true history this one

  • it's the way you tell 'em.

best read in a Korean accent?

Yeah, and my bank balance is suffering!

I salvaged the saddle (an old s. italia flight) and that's about the only freebie on it.

Parts list of the top of my head: Phil Woods laced to Mavic Open Pros w/ Randos; Thomson seatpost; Izumi 'Super Toughness' chain (bought it for the name on the box alone! ;-)); MKS cheap track pedals with LL clips (free nylon straps will be changed forthwith); Nitto Technomic stem; Nitto B125 bars; Sugino 75 w/ Zen ring (I actually ordered the SG75 ring but was sent a Zen); Campag Centaur bb.

    Lucky bugger!

I'm sure this has been done before, but I'm so pleased with the result that I wanted to put a little picture... I swapped bars / stem on my bike and had no bar tape to put on, the old bits I had kept in my mess were the wrong colour, so I cut two stripes in a old inner tube and wrapped it with the inside fascia out... Looks nice I thought for free tape... blah blah... recycling...

    Loic

Nice job. Except you started at the top. You should start at the ends of the bars and work up. That way you aren't pushing down against the overlap.

  • My current project, hope to finish it as soon as possible.

  • soo fit ^^^^

  • Cool 'rello.

  • Don't be a twat max, leave that too hoops.

  • Cool 'rello.

    SO close to neg rep.

  • do it!

  • Do it and I'll get you banned... you've seen it happen before so it is possible...

  • Due to the stupidity of hoops calling his a 'Pinar', everytime I see a Pinarello, I kept reading it as "pinata 'rello".

You need a better BB and Frame.

  • The Centaur is a good bottom bracket.

    Track frame needed tho.

  • If you are running Sugino 75s, Phils and an Izumi Super Toughness then you need a top notch BB. Centaur is good, but there is no point on having such an expensive chain if the BB isn't top of the game. Go Phil. The BB is better then the hubs.
