  • Personally I'd rotate the bars upwards slightly, so that the ends of the bars are in line with the rear brake stay.

    Tried to mention this yesterday.
On the picture I rotated the bars anticlockwise 10 degrees.
Looks better in the pic IMHO.
It will ride a lot better too. Perhaps it has to be rotated even more.
Of course it all depends on what you prefer.
All comments come from envious people ;-)

By the way, how do you call a BRAKE BRIDGE on a track frame ?

  • that's who I got the information from, he gave it to me a while ago.

Salmon's probably won't work well with tyres above 23 (or a skinny 25).

Why not get the Gilles Berthouds (from sjs)? I'd be getting those now if I was doing it all again. And may well be soon for my Mercian, bit sick of skinny tyres. Also, they'd fill up your modest clearances nicely on that bike, by the look of your photo.

  • Damn, this is what I wrote April 20.
A shame it's just a bit too big.
He really did what I had in mind (except the colours).
Too bad that the chrome on the seat lug has to go with a repair job like this...

It's amazing what a little faith, imagination and good taste will get you.
I'm glad it was Buddha who restored the Cinelli.
    Superb build!
Yes I did Ved, yes I did.

any chance that there's a salmon for 27" wheels instead of 700c?

  • Just a quick question:

Do campag lock rings fit on miche primato hubs, I just tried to do that and it looks like its different, just wanna now if i am stupid.

    cheers

  • Fuck me, too many super nice bikes in here! Geeling awfully jealous and inspired att he same time!

Charlie, I'll just echo all the comments so far and say WOW!

  • By the way, how do you call a BRAKE BRIDGE on a track frame ?

I did ponder that for more time than I should of before typing it. I decided to call it that for clarity.

Nice photoshopping skills too - that was exactly what I meant and I know I was echoing what you'd already said.

Yes, should both be left hand Italian threads, i believe.

It's called a seat stay bridge. Probably because it bridges the seat stays or something :-)

  • I've got two rare 2A 95mm stem,
but the condition is not looks really good,
if you can find someone to chrome it, maybe you'll interested.

I am collecting Cinelli parts - there is a red suede Cinelli unicantor saddle just come up on the bay that I have my eye on - eventually I'll have two set ups for this frame one for the street another for the track - thanks for your help with this dwight - it really very much appreciated..:)

  • Easily polished if aluminum.

  • How much do the 67's go for?

  • Depends, but the going price last time we had this discussion seemed to be between £60-£100 quid, depending on condition.

  • I got some for £60 inc postage from Ebay.fr, bit scuffed but tape will hide the worst.

  • any chance that there's a salmon for 27" wheels instead of 700c?

I don't think so, we don't have 27" in France (or just few touring geeks maybe... I know "Paris Rando" could order some... cool shop in Paris if you go there http://www.rando-cycles.fr/performer.html)
I had never heard of 27"s before I moved to London...
I think the matter is not the radius of the mudgard, only a few millimeters O/A difference between 700c and 27" diameter, and with Salmons, since it's finaly just a plate (no side returns, ou can adjust that very easily)...
Apparently Salmon's don't have wider mudgards for the kind of tyres you find these days in 27 tyres (I mean what is generaly available without digging NOS stuff...)

I had the same conversation with Skully a few days ago which resulted in me ordering Gilles Berthoud stainless steel mudgard (in 40mm whide) for my touring bike (27 1-1/4 big fat gatorskin tyres) I should receive them next week, so if you want to see what they look like, we could meet at some drinks... My feel is that they are be as smart / sharp as Salmons, but, in my case they should suit the look of my bike... I hope!

  • Nice logo.
    Superprecise will def appreciate.

  • Yes indeed!

  • BTW it that Cinelli the same colour as your Pinarello Mr Buddha?

    The Pinarello is black chrome

The Cinelli is black metal flake

I am pretty sure certain the seatlug was unchromed but I didn't see it before it went off to the menders

    you have a pm ...:)

  • Please take the valve caps off and angle the bars a bit down ;-)

Valve caps are nicer looking than plain valves. I know they're not needed but I think they make the bike look more complete. Personal pref and all.

  • I am pretty sure certain the seatlug was unchromed but I didn't see it before it went off to the menders

  • Yep, I've seen that after I placed my reaction.
Seat stays are different from (other?) Supercorsa's.
    Still a great bike though.

  • the poyner is finally done

and the latest one. I am thinking of changing the bartape to yellow and thats it.
