Nah, I like the honjos, but it's too 'town bike' than 'path racer' so I'm going to get the "Daniel Salmon Super Profil" french mudguard from a luddite, those mudguard are skinnier.
speak to skully... he has the best mudguard i have ever seen, custom made by some fella in a van

that's who I got the information from, he gave it to me a while ago.
I didn't think the modern campag crank on the Holdsworth would look rather nice in the end, it seemed very fitting to an old frame.

Update on the LoPro. Sorry for the crap picture, will get some proper ones done when it's finished, hopefully next week.
Just waiting for the Italian Lockring, some black bar tape and some new allen key skewers to come in the post (damn strikes!).Before:
Now:
It's an ambrosio disc wheel, running 53:16 as a magic ratio (I know, but I can handle it!), will probably rebuild the front wheel radial at some point. Pretty happy with how it's coming together. It's an awesome bike to ride.
is that the disc you bought of me? looks good in black. Gearing-wise, why don't you run ist with 52/17, should be easy to get and the same chain length (if u can find a 51/18 it would be perfect)
-
• #17305
Yeah, it's the disc from you. Most of my riding is at high speed and on flat, smooth roads, and out of hectic traffic, so the ratio really isn't too bad.

Jersey.
I have to disagree with you there, I ride 52/16 and I find it just right. Even with my racer I hover around that ratio unless it is really steep.
Have tried 48/16 but with the higher cadence I tend to run out of steam. Higher cadence means more work, but maybe it all depends on your build....?Go on Eddie, get that beauty on the road! It's looking good after the laquering
nar i like steep gears. was saying i liked it.
-
• #17307
wow... some huge gears being batted around... I'm so used to spinning i very rarely use the big ring on my roadie... Thing is I have humongous thighs yet i just don't feel comfortable with a cadence below 120...

It's amazing what a little faith, imagination and good taste will get you.
I'm glad it was Buddha who restored the Cinelli.
Superb build!
Dwayne will jizz his pants when he sees ^that^
Yes I did Ved, yes I did.

Beautifully done buddha, that's two utterly stunning bikes you now have.
Personally I'd rotate the bars upwards slightly, so that the ends of the bars are in line with the rear brake stay.
-
• #17311
needs a drop stem no?
-
• #17312
might as well put this here.
Not nearly done, next up paintjob and different crank.
Will need to sell another bike for funds or something since I like to eat occasionally. -

They photograph better parallel with the floor though ;)needs a drop stem no?
If that would mean compensating for the increased drop by pulling more of the stem from the head tube then no.
ED: forgot the obvious. Beautiful bike, a joy to behold.

Buddha has said he's looking for a Cinelli pista 2A stem and 67 bars to complete the build.
I'm sure it will be perfect when done.

I am not sure I understand Andy ? do you mean tilt them up 5 degrees
-
• #17317
5% clockwise, i think he means, so the ends are higher/nearer you.
tell him to p!ssoff!

That bar/stem combo does look nice.

I am collecting Cinelli parts - there is a red suede Cinelli unicantor saddle just come up on the bay that I have my eye on - eventually I'll have two set ups for this frame one for the street another for the track - thanks for your help with this dwight - it really very much appreciated..:)

Its so that the flats of the drops are at a right angle to your arms when riding. As the are, this could only be true if your shoulders are directly over the bars.
I'd still photograph them flat though :)

When I get the track bars sorted and my compulsory French riding license I'll make sure the bar angles are right for riding..:)
