  • I think a mix of both, but personally I wouldn't use black spokes ever unless I was building an all-black bike.

or had black hubs, tyres and rims

  • @hugo: yes, the other are all alu-frames/-bikes

  • looks good fun but plenty toverlap?(blinds pullcord tied to door handle fail);)

  • They're meant for freewheel action, so yes I can see toe overlap problems - especially with polo...

  • The toe overlap problem can be sorted by changing the fork to a racked one, the speedway one appear to have no rack at all.

  • or changing the crank (currently 175mm) into a shorter one (165mm?)

  • Couldn't you just turn the fork round to push the wheel further out? Looks like it's designed with the dropouts on the back of the fork legs for a tighter wheelbase.

Like if you turn your MTB forks around for polo.

    And this.

  • @eingang - might take those bars off your hands if you're selling? do they rise much?

  • Hi all!
I’m new member and can’t start new tread, so I post my question here.
Desperately need help. I bought Raleigh Wisp bicycle of eBay to convert it SS for my wife, but I’m completely lost as I can’t find any spec on the web and don’t know what sizes I need to buy all beats and pieces. I read that some people done conversions, so may be some one could point me in right direction.
I want to powder coat frame and fork, and get all rest components new (build new set of wheels, new saddle and stem, new breaks and handle bar etc.) Wisp frame size is 18” and wheels perhaps is 24? Not sure.
    Many thanks, Russ.

  • I'll give you a name;

To find out what size wheels you have, look what it says on the tyres.

  • Having sold my old bikes and moved to Berlin, I'm starting a new JoeSlain-inspired BlackTarck (racist!) bike.

    Soma Rush frame
    Goldtec on DP 18
    Sugino Messenger
    Charge Bucket saddle
Rest will be cheapo MTB stuff
