  • Hi, Now I building second urbanvelo for my friend from Budweis... Coaster brake, black rims, black pneus, RAL1015 color (elefant white), selfmade Scattini brands, Czech saddle - copy of Brooks from 60ties, Truvativ Touro arms with 53/19 gear ratio. ShimanoRX100 headse. Favorit bars. CrMo Cycloman 120mm stem. Frame is Scattini (uknowned mark, new colour) wit cut-off pins... from Mannessmann 25CrMo4 0,9mm tubes from maybe 1988.

Coaster brake. nice. that elephant white is very nice - what did it cost you?

    My new Aende,

Was going to singlespeed her, but think I'll leave as is... few bits and bobs to do over the next few weeks.

Also, an album of Pongo himself - I'm greatly comforted knowing that my bike was built by a pipesmoker.

    Not another one! ;-)

Which track do you race? The angles look too slack or my tastes, how does it feel?

  • it's a lovely effort, top mark to you! althought I must ask why the track-end is sloped upward oppose to horziontal?

  • Thanks Vinylvillain and Soul. It's lovely to ride, never riden one before and was expecting it to be ...odd... but it's actually very nimble.

Yours / Ricks is a beauty. I think there's a picture of it in this flickr gallery, along with a "sraightened" out one, which I assume was a photoshop? There's also a picture of the pink track frame that got me wanting an Aende in the first place when I saw it on ebay a year ago :)

The straightend one was the work of Bike Snob New York, he took a shine to it and thought he could make it a little better . .ha . . thanks for the link, i cant comment on flickr, but heres a bit more infor from when i sold it to Rik

when i built the frame the track ends were horizontal in relation to the rear chain stay but i have since been told most frames have track ends pointing downwards slightly so they are flat when the chainstays are angled downwards

just to clear up i am 1st cat rider and have riden manchester for over 8yrs

  • How many frames have you done? thats a really nice blend of traditional/modern, and looks like it will fly round the boards

its the first ive built so its a big learning curve but its straight and rides nice on the road so fingers crossed

  • Finally starting to come together, strange mix of parts I know, not how I had planned it at all but I like its turned out.
Just waiting for my hub to arrive so I can get my wheels built, then itll be pretty much ready to go.

  • It is a good week for n+1 rule here in Copenhagen...
Just spend a couple of days in Berlin, my girlfriend got me a Faggin trackframe as a late birthday present in the Keirin Cycle Culture Café.. nice! :)

Tomorrow I'm picking up the RiGi I bought about a week ago at work where it's been delivered..

The Faggin needs a bit of work on the paint on the chainstay, but nothing too bad... I'm going to use it on the track in Ballerup just outside of Copenhagen this winter. First time going on the track.

Looking forward to seeing the RiGi frame and if anything needs to be done to that.
