Not finished. Just wanted to get it on the road :)
Looking for a silver stem and a nice seatpost that fits.
i would prefer to look for a black seatpost and the same rim from the back for the front. however, a real beauty!

I'm a real hipster now.
As soon as I can afford some new Sidi's I will swap the nasty pedals over to Roc Atacs.
Looking for a silver stem and a nice seatpost that fits. This one is shimmed.
Other things like wheels etc will be changed in due time..
Simple and elegant, good work! Love the nationalist colourway too ;-) Find that silver stem and it'll be sick.

Did you put on the front wheel of your Gitane to see what's the clearance on that frame? easiest way to find out which size wheel it take.

Nah, not yet Egg, am out atm, posted it via mobile.. I havent yet ridden my gitane on the road. Dont feel safe so joined up on tfl cycle training.

Picked this up from original owner, was kept in the loft from new unbuilt, he recently built it up with modern components but never rode it, bit strange taking a bike so old out for its first ever run, goes like the wind!
Want to make it a bit more period so will be changing a number of the parts, ordered some campag cable guides for the top tube at the weekend looking for some bar end shifters next

Lovely Quinn. Would suggest the wheels would be nicer in all-silver (are they black spokes as well?) but generally lush, great find.
Reminds me, I got some NOS Shimano centre pull brakes for my Pug... just needs that final cash injection for the wheels and cranks now.

cracking find, regal is right on the wheels, low profile silver wheels with large flange hubs would finish that a treat
that lug work is spotless! -

One of these on their way for an all terrain fixed gear winter machine - whoop whoop! Im having the rear bosses off and the cable guides removed.

got some rims and hubs on the way too so i can build up the wheels in the interim - 3 weeks until it's ready - then i'll be asking some questions here about cranks for a the wider chainline.

Yes, agree on the wheels :) modern shimanos on there at the minute black with black spokes, there quite light and are really smooth but they look out of place, will definitely be looking into replacements, thinking about amberwalls to but struggling to find anything in 700c

right, so my langster got crushed between a wall and heavily loaded camper van so i need something new. i'm considering a 56cm dolan pre cursa and i was just wondering if anyone could tell me if i should expect massive toe overlap?
