  • max, that some weird looking slr saddle?
    what is it?

  • it look stripped.

  • Stripped SLR, as made famous by Mr. murtey wurtey

  • Average. Front wheel valve align fail.

  • Roberts number two has just arrived. Saw it on ebay last night and made a speculative cash offer to end early which was accepted. Same way that I found the first as it happens. Few dings and perhaps a bit big but something to keep me occupied for a while.

Plus points are really good condition Cinelli pista bars and very good condition Campag pista cranks along with the drillium seat post. On a less positive note I need a new set of wheels and the saddle is horrible.

  • Not finished. Just wanted to get it on the road :)

    I'm a real hipster now.

As soon as I can afford some new Sidi's I will swap the nasty pedals over to Roc Atacs.

Looking for a silver stem and a nice seatpost that fits. This one is shimmed.

Other things like wheels etc will be changed in due time..

fucking bang - awesome man, well done, it's sick as bro

  • Nice mate, what wheels r u planning on getting?

  • Not finished. Just wanted to get it on the road :)

It needs to have the stem lowered

  • Nice Maxy lad! That the Eddy Merckx right?

Sort the saddle out, get a nm front rim and match the stem and seatpost colour and that'll be lust!

    You will see

It needs to have the stem lowered

I know but its comfy as fuck as it is

    Chearz big earz :)

It is, and yeah it's not all finished and matching yet, just built so I can ride it.

Will be doing both those things

  • Fair do's, enjoy! :-)

  • My Father's new Bob Jackson Audax, disguised as a 1970's road bicycle, but without all those old rubbish groupset

That's a lovely bicycle. I'm guessing you had quite a bit of fun speccing it... It's that thing you do when you buy a gift for someone and really you end up getting something you'd love to have yourself.

  • Nice one Max looking da schnizzle....

  • .

  • That Roberts pista looks great!

    A good deal I bet.

Max, you've got to let me ride your Merckx when I next see you.

    Nice build!

  • This is intense.
Id like to have a go on this.
    Sweet buy i reckon.
Let us know what it's like when you get it.

  • ye max, with that frame you cannot go wrong, surely is a nice one.
can't wait to see you both at drinks.

  • I could do with a nice old school high flange rear wheel can't find one anywhere, also need a period seatpost.

  • Max, you've got to let me ride your Merckx when I next see you.

    Thursday buddy :)

  • Hey, I'm new to this forum.
Wanted to buy a fixed gear bike for a while but never could justify spending money on something i wasn't sure if i would phase out of (since i have never had a "real" shot on one )

Well either way the idea slipped my mine for a while, until a few days ago when i found this decaying bike in a skip (it also happened to be pay day) So i thought why not give myself a summer project and try and restore it and give me my first fixed gear bike.

The only thing is i know nothing about the technical side of bike especially fixed gear.

    anyways heres the bike.
its not in amazing condition but i think its salvageable plus I'm not looking for much out of my first build / first fixed gear

so opinions do you think its worth it?
i was thinking of putting in a flip-flop hub on if i go ahead with the project so if i find its not for me on a daily basis i haven't just wasted money.

You can always sell the flip flop wheel or use it later in another project. Go for it.

  • Not finished. Just wanted to get it on the road :)

you know how you borrowed my hoodie? im borrowing your bike.

  • Nearly there! Sylvans, new cages and straps on the way, brake sorting soon. Got it built up enough to have blast on it earlier after popping into 14 who really kindly gave me some old bars for free, thanks chaps!

  • Nice one max.
    Beautiful rigi
