Clare that bike is rather nice! Don't sweat about the brake holes, it'll all come out in the wash.

the geekhouse f+f are gonna look good in plain i think, you getting the bars done too??
-

point is, there is no good reason not to have one there. in certain situations it just is safer. personal choice/preference is a good enough reason on its own, don't argue for 'brakless' on the grounds of safety ffs.
My reason is that
a) It's hard to find a brake that'll not be annoying to have on the bars.
b) I don't want to drill my forks.
c) I don't want to scratch my rims.I am however thinking about getting TT-bars + a road-fork for my PlanetX, and a frontbrake + a wheel I don't care using a brake on.

if you want to ride with a front brake, then sort it out! don't just be brakeless coz your forks don't permit it. must be bloody frustrating every time you go for a ride??

Definately from the early 1970's.
Don't know the brand, but on the well-known sites you'll find something:

New photo, doesn't really do it justice as its surrounded by MOC's computer gear - but you get the idea - more on my Flickr
What is all that computer stuff?!
Frame looks great. Did you install the headset yourself?

I live in a comms room these days, those machines in the background are what Mike is using to overthrow the government..or something. I'm waiting for him to invent the next Facebook so we can get a massive place with its own bloody comms room. Keeps the flat warm in the winter though.
No I didn't install the headset myself Villiers did it, and yes I know the writing doesn't line up - Jimbilly pointed it out :-)
The stem is a temporary affair, whilst I wait for a longer one, hence the spacers.

Clefty, that Villiers is a beaut, it makes me a little sad to see no braking mechanism though.

It makes me sad as well because I have a brake waiting to go on it, and until I get the problem with the front fork sorted out (thursdfay!) I can't fit it - and therefore can't ride it.
However there is one braking mechanism on it. It's personal choice to ride brakless..it's just not my personal choice.@ed it feels a lot lighter, even with heavy spok of woe and deep v/phil of doom.
