Cow or testicle theme?

Niiiice!

Hahah yes I was thinking cow but now you've said testicles that's all I see.

• #116530
Still bovine at least.

Just thought I'd point out that the functional bikes thread is currently on page 666. Are we in the end times?

That's a shame, best give them to me

SRAM Hydro 'easter island head' hoods coming along on my Genesis nicely, internal dynamo routing next, then new mudguards and remove the lowriders for daily use.
Finally managed to get my WTB Nanos' to seal up last night, much shaking and bouncing and subsequently flinging dried mud dust everywhere. Need to get the rear wheel rebuilt a DT swiss straight pull to match the front. Then its off to paint, something like RAL 9006.
Got my few full frame bag for my cannondale the other day:
Tapered nicely front to back.
Also got my Tester slam that stem bearing cover:
Taking me from this:
to this:
Which allows me to fit the Fox Float 32 RLC forks I got from @Jon. (many thanks again!)
Nice to have a bike you can have in full slammed XC mode and then easily swap to 'comfort' bikepacking mode.
I've got some Cannondale Hollowgram Si cranks to go on it next once the Hope 30mm BSA BB and Race Face 73mm axle comes back into stock. May get a direct mount chainring, but probably a Cannondale MTB spider as in the long run the chainrings are cheaper. -

White forks really suit that!

• #116535
Absolutely, I also wanted it in pink but bike24 had none. Nonetheless purple is rather nice

Finally started putting this together.

Grandis Overmax, nice.
Is that the one that's been on the 'Bay for ages?

Bought this Bob Jackson the other week as a full bike with 10 speed tiagra.
So far it's got new cranks (thanks @Jon.), new bars (thanks @5115_Pete), new stem, new seatpost (to be replaced with Chinese carbon soon), new saddle, new headset and new pedals.
I've popped my brother's wheels on there just to see how it looks and now there's no way I'm not gonna get some deep carbon for it...
Need some 11 speed 105 or ultegra shifters, brakes and mechs then it's finished I suppose.

Did you pick up the cranks at hhv yesterday?
-
• #116542
Ah thought it was a bit tenuous. Saw someone with a set of the same cranks loose at hhv yesterday, looked like post trade...

• #116543
I'm not sure if that's the one you're referring to but I bought it off eBay auction about month ago. Looking forward to riding it since I've heard a lot of good things about Grandis.

Mounted some parts on the Alan. Now waiting for the cantis and barend shifters to arrive.

Awesome, any close ups?

Got the forks back- here's another sketchy pic:
Bit random, also the whites off- but I'm warming to it.
In any case the actual paint and finish on the forks is excellent.
the steerer will be too long, by about 2.5/3cm or so. is the best bet to have someone extend the threads - and then cut it down a tad, or does it look long enough to try and run a threadless headset and stem? Is that a no no?

Ah, it's for a Roberts!

About a year after picking up the frame I finally built this up for winter:

My latest purchase, a C4 with a pretty uncommon stem.
I tried to do some research about the frame on the internet, seems to be a C4 magik but there are very few information about it. C4 was more famous for the joker and the bianchi that could fit all sizes... Anyway, I don't know yet what I'm gonna do with it, right now it's built with a mix of campag veloce and centaur, but I'm thinking about DA 7700 with old corima aero... Any suggestions?
a friend offered to paint these Max forks Im planning to use- think he did a pretty awesome job!
(Sorry for the crappy photo)
