  • That was the for sale picture, hence why I got it under budget!

  • Yep compared to my felt ia this will fall into the budget category, obviously wheels will be shared, but otherwise complete bike should come in under £1,000 to get it up and running, including di2.

  • Finished. Couldnt say no to the framset.

  • BC bottles fit, just. 90's Elite cages add to the mtb feel.
Bike buddy needs shortened rear stop to move the fuel bottle a bit further up from the chainset. It clears but more would be nicer.

  • Bought this frame a while ago but been too busy to do anything with it, decided that my steel steed needed a break and have tried to transplant everything over in an afternoon.

Still need to do a few things..

calipers show 26.8 seatube but that seems way too loose. Anyone got a cheapo 27.0 knocking about that I can buy?

  • I should have something, and will have a sort through tomorrow and let you know.

  • cool frame :)

  • Pants photo but fantastic bike to ride - looking for some drilled (road) forks if anyone has any :)

  • Might have some, what length steerer?

  • That looks wicked as is.

    Just say no to brakes.

  • Bought Kona Unit off of @jfktolax yesterday, added a longer seat post, Fu Manchu bars and swapped from slicks to the ardents. Plan is to set up dynamo lighting, hydraulic brakes and then maybe a dropper.
Probably a little small for me but I'm okay with that.

  • I like the pro look ;)

  • Making slow, but steady progress up-grading my Dave Yates.

    Then:

Now; having swapped out the bar tape, saddle, tyres and brake callipers:

Will slowly upgrade the groupset as affordable parts become available.

  • Thanks @Jaap :)

Not particularly exciting, but been looking for an excuse to use this saddle for a while, reckon it's dece or should I just stick to an all black one?

  • Recommendation to any CX8.4/9 users, if your brakes have got sucky, highly recommend the TRP rebuild kit, the improvement is night and day, they feel amazing

  • highly recommend the TRP rebuild kit

    But not the instructions? :)

  • I got there in the end 😂

  • That frame is absolutely lovely.

  • @MCamb 175mm minimum - PMed you

@MechaMorgan - Yeah, I kinda don't want to but at the same time, it's a converted road frame, it's probs gonna live at my parents and my Dad is gonna use it, who wants hoods and stuff to make it more "road like"

  • that looks great and fun! are those 700c wheels?

  • pretty sure they are.. mine were...

  • My new side project, picking it up in the week. Was too cheap to pass up on.
Pic is crap but it appears to be a pre-2000 model which means it should just clear my 700x35 tyres but i may need to bob my mudguards an inch or two. Will clear Liz's 26x2.3 just fine. Don't want to have to shell out for the 29er yoke which costs more than I paid for the trailer.
It looks a bit rough, not gonna go mad doing it up until I've decided if I actually need it or not. Plan is to combine bike touring with climbing. This requires an extra 20kgs of crap on top of camping gear. Will hopefully just strip, regrease and t-cut. Might get a hookworm or equally over the top tyre if the one on there is perished.

  • Looks sweet. Really quite a great steal.
Match the handlebar tape with it!
