There I was about to say the chainset is just right as is. Breaks up what would be too much silver without being too much black as in tijs potatochop

Does it get more HHSRB than this?
It most definitely does, it always does. The sky is the limit.

Got this 1998 SUNN Tonic recently. There was alot of surface rust but after some tin foil and elbow grease it´s looking alot better. My plan is to build it up w. 1x8-speed, fu manchu bars, getto tubeless (snatched up the last pair of these) and possibly #racknbasket
much functional, so on trend -

I'm running those tyres too, crazy good bargain! Id turn them tubless if I wasn't planning on leaving the bike at my parents

I'm never gonna ride with flat but liking the idea of making the bike more fun on towpath/mountain.

I know! It was your post in the 'functional bikes'-thread that led me to them :)

I finally made my Kuwahara more functional! Will post some pictures later.

Just spent a very therapeutic hour fitting frame protection stickers, silicone cable twizzles and brake stud blanking bolts. Barely noticeable but definitely satisfying to do. Found the more I looked the more places I found to protect from rubbing.
Need another pair of m10 blanking bolts to cover the trailer mount holes on the dropouts. Didn't think about them til the order arrived.

Imo it's things like this that really finish off a bike

Absolutely. In this case it's actually the starting point while saving for the big money parts.
I'm rarely this anal with my own bikes but Liz has serious attention to detail. Also, bare threads on a tourer is just asking to get clogged with grim never to be cleaned again. Better to treat an expensive bike well in the first place. Am cutting some m5 bolts down at work today to plug the eyelets that won't get used.
Used 8 twizzles and nearly a whole sheet of frame stickers, could really do with a few more twizzles to be fully covered. Got a neoprene chainstay sock on its way as well.
Still umming and ahhing about which rear rack to go with. Must be 26", not universal as high to racks make baby Jesus cry. -

clogged with grim
Should be Yorkshire's county motto
-
• #112422
I meant grime but grim actually sounds better in my head now.
Hurrah for being a thicko.. -

Tubus do 26" specific racks with the added bonus of being indestructible.

Yeah looking at the cargo evo 26. I have a logo which I'd get again in a heartbeat if they made a 26" specific one. The no longer make a 26" specific tara which is a shame but think Liz is going with anything cages when they're back in stock.
Have been manufacturing a range of standoff washers and odd length bolts to make mudguard fitting more harmonious this weekend. -

Got some different bars and finally adjusted the brakes right. Will get magic gear ratio once this cog and chainring wear out.
I'd agree with that.
Really good looking bike Spotter.
