  • that gazelle is beautiful.

  • my new beater

  • Smallfurry

    Problems left (I hope):-
    I) Frame came with threaded cable stops on the down tube but no barrel adjusters. Adjusters now on order.

same problem for me, seen a couple of pairs on ebay but i'm not sure what size i'm looking for.. 6mm/8mm most seem to be either for mechs or brakes.. which have you gone for?

  • That's a hot beater Rocksteady! Love it.

  • Fitted a 20mm longer and 5 deg lower thomson stem to the Brooklyn now and it's feeling far better for my back...also been playing around with the bars...this is my potential Dunwich Dynamo set up...used to run a similar set up on my Pace when i commuted on it...i'm gonna be greatful of the alternative hand positions if i do the Dunwich again this year.

Love that set up (the middle bits), do you think it will work the same on risers? I like the feel of risers but ache's my back on long rides.

  • Came out great Marlon...just needs some black tape on the bars i reckon.

Only problem will be that risers are usually bulged further out fron the centre, and as MTB bar ends are designed to fit the end of the bar, you might struggle to get them far enough in.
Depends on the bars you choose really.

Havent measured, but the barrel adjuster from my rear mech fitted when I tried. Chainreactioncycles sell them for a couple squid, but are out of stock for a month or something (too long!)

I've orderd these on a whim.
    1.99 each.

    (ED: did'nt fit!)

Although I figure the adjuster part of these should fit.
    £9.99 for a pair.

Hope this helps. If you're in no hurry I can PM you to let you know if the first ones fit. They should reach me in a few days.

  • Love it! Fit better than your current frame?

    my new beater

  • my new hot beater

    WORD!

  • Last time I saw these Onza bar-ends they were on my bro's MTB, early to mid 90s, I couldn't afford them so I was really jealous. I'm feeling a bit nostalgic now.

I always wanted the titanium version but couldn't afford them.

looks like an expensive beater! nice tho!

    Agreed.
You may have better luck using 22.2mm riser bars and a shim to fit the stem.
I think DMR make some cheap (heavy) ones.
    mmm.. comfyhands.

Gussett make some much lighter ones too.

  • I'll no doubt see Aitch tomorrow night so that's cool by me.

  • scott, that looks comfy as riding a sofa...
so many positions, especially the middle bar extenders, i quite fancy doing that myself, since i always find myself wanting to get in that position but not having the bars to do it.

  • They felt great against last nights headwind at the tour de easties last night :)

  • Came out great Marlon...just needs some black tape on the bars i reckon.

just rode it but not sure about the drops yet, so no tape or grips yet.
i'll try it with risers tomorrow.

  • that's looking lovely. and not too different from my planned build.

if i hadn't just sent it away to be sprayed, i might've chosen a different colour!

    lovely bike all the same.

  • Love the Katanas....for me personally i'd have gone with a black rear h+ and black saddle...but otherwise...really nice build.

Thanks. We are seeing eye to eye on the black H+sons... ahh hindsight, next time :)

  • almost finished the 'bad weatherbike', just need to get another stem
