  • There's only 1 place in the whole of Lisbon/Portugal you should do this.

Seafood and steak sarnies is actually the only thing they cook there.

It is beyond good. Not the cheapest in Lisbon, but by far....... the very best.

    Cervejaria Ramiro

sidenote: Read it somewhere recently, we (portuguezers) are the #1 seafood eaters of the world.
    csb

That's where Bourdain was at, it's exactly where I'm going... ;)

Galicia will give the Portugals a run for their money in the seafood scoffing stakes...

  • You're doing it well.

  • Ask Paul (Bodie) for the tour de Lisbon I drew up for him, couple of years ago.

  • I'll do that... Chris, that place is also going on the list...

  • TS - Go here - http://www.pasteisdebelem.pt/

Coffee. Pasteis de nata. Sugar Coma.

    Aweseome..

About 3 years ago, I went there (I always do when I'm back), I was astonished.... going from London to Lisbon was a shock... price wise.

Can't remember exactly now, but it was like 2 teas, 1 latte + 4 Pasteis de Nata = €8.50.

    Rondiculous.

  • Mind you, you can get a coffee and a pastei de nata for just over two quid at O Cantinho or Funchal Bakery... Best value in London... I'm a big fan of the custard filled doughnuts, obvs...

    Bola de Berlim:

derived from Berliner, the german relative:

It's my favourite too, have one sitting right next to me....waiting. Lish.

  • They're sold in every beach, at least in the south/centre coast.
    It's the fave beach treat.
    So good.

  • And Pepe, you'll find this place a lot, scattered around Lisbon

Get in there, order this: Pão de Deus
    Thank me later.
    (It's coconut)

  • Malasadas in Hawaii were a thing I loved. They are somehow different than just donuts or pfannkuchen or whatever. They are Portuguese so I thought I would get tons being here in europe. I have discovered though that portuguese only eat them on some special god day not every day like in Hawaii. Plain or with azuki bean or haupia inside, yes please.

  • Ha!
We call them: Sonhos de Natal (*Xmas Dream*s)
    And yes, xmas only.

  • Back to seafood, another must: Goose Barnacles Percebes
It's the most expensive seafood choice, in Portugal.
Tastes like the sea, like a mouthful of waves.
    You must.

  • Nuknow - 'God's Bread' is how I translate that coconut bread roll. Is it stuffed? Just curious.

  • Pfft, Galicia invented percebes!

    So good, so pricey...

  • It's topped with coconut custard. The dough is just like a brioche, but a bit richer..
It's usually served with butter, ham and cheese.
    God'sbread.

    Pão de Deus Misto

  • Staaaaahp!!!

  • :)

Galicia and Portugal are practically the same place, awesome food and people...

  • trufax

  • you guys make a cute couple.

  • its mums birthday tomorrow. Anyone had any experience with the vinopolis wine and dine packages?

    Much grateful

  • Made a strawberry balsamic shrub. Tasty tasty.

    'scuse the instagram.

  • The blueberry and choc chip coconut rice squares, and the raspberry and mint coconut rice squares taste great.
I'm hoping they set a bit firmer though...
The frittata rice squares (they call them denver rice squares) are setting at the moment - will try them later.

I'm sure it's cheaper but none of that looks anywhere near as practical as a bar or a gel. Also, chocolate? Y U NO apply sports science.

  • Last Page: Looks like I need to visit Portugal. It's a suburb in Costa del Spain right?
