I have some paneer, broccoli, potato, and tomato in the oven covered in balti paste (sadly not homemade). I'm going to have that with the red lentil and spinach curry I made on Thursday and a shop bought naan pimped into a garlic naan. I'm not even that hungry and I can't wait.

I do that with cat food, not with human food.

Tupperware, rather than jars. Stops it drying out too much, otherwise they won't eat it. -

Just got back from 10 days in Portugal, little fishing (now mainly tourist, natch) village with a handful of great little restaurants. There ten nights, cooked in twice, ate out 8 nights, had 8 great meals. Want to go back now.

Mixed bag but yeah, all in all very affordable. Ate breakfast in apartment and made our own lunch (great fresh bread, cured ham, tomato, oregano etc) every day, spent on average 40 euros per night for two peeps inc pre dinner drinks (starting at 6pm without fail) tapas, cocktails, proper dinner with starter or loads of tapas with wine and port/brandy after. Most expensive blow-out still failed to spend over 80 in a night. And that was in a tourist (ish) area. Ate seafood for 8 nights in a row till tried the steak.... dude the steaks!

Sounds amazing, Portugals deffo know how to do steak...
First meal's gonna be a mountain of seafood followed by a steak sandwich for dessert... I'm told this is traditional in Lisbon...

Been a while I've been to Lisbon; was not vegan back then.
Had to rush around a lot and grabbed food during short stops.
The thing I ate the most often, unfortunately I forgot what it was called, tasted awesome in every little restaurant / bar thing I ordered it
(first time I pointed to a local eating it going like "I want what he is having"). It was basically a steak in a bun. -

So two of the meals out were a bit duff? :)

Haha, nope! Two meals not eaten in restaurants, bars or cafes were home-cooked by me in our tiny apartment and also were great! Barbecued lamb kebabs with lemon, garlic, smoked paprika oregano and a tomato and onion salad on the side. The other one was thin pork steaks with similar seasonings but fried in olive oil with baby green peppers and boiled green beans on the side. Part cooked the last two steaks and finished them up the following day to have in chewy floury rolls for lunch on the beach. Win.

There's only 1 place in the whole of Lisbon/Portugal you should do this.
Seafood and steak sarnies is actually the only thing they cook there.
It is beyond good. Not the cheapest in Lisbon, but by far....... the very best.
