Chickened out of buying a set of 6 Mauviel pans from Steamer Trading this afternoon. I'm sure they cook well too, but they look bloody beautiful.
When I move into a place of my own I will, but sharing right now and looking at the state of the current pans I'm trying to replace, I don't think it's a good idea.

Home made granola. Reports on tastiness to follow after breakfast...

(massive photo, sorry)Also made my best white bread (so far) yesterday. I think the secret was putting it in the bed with a hot water bottle to rise. Poppy seeds may have also helped.

Anyone had the viper wings from the guy around the back of brick lane? They are insanely hot, but immense!

granola looks great ( have a strange addiction to cereal in all its wonderful forms). if it turns out well on the palette, you'll have to share the recipe.
done home made granola a few times and never get it to clump up very well, ends up more like crunchy meusli

Well it tastes good, the oats were nicely toasted, but much longer in the oven and they'd have been burnt. 25 mins might be a little too long.
I followed this recipe, but didnt have almonds so used pistachios instead, and swapped raisins for dried blueberries and cranberries.I'm not sure if I've just come to expect breakfast cereal to be sweet because of having shop bought stuff for so long but this tastes suprisingly salty to me. Maybe becaused I used sea salt flakes rather than ground? Either way it was still tasty, and worth making again.
