  • Make it a g2 and i will

  • ^ not much diff really

  • Does it have the green label update?

  • Seen those G1 bodies for eighty quid, why does everyone stay away from them?

  • Slow AF, horrendous MF, limited range of proprietary lenses - even more limited if it's not had the green sticker update, dodgy reliability - especially the commonly broken or about to break lcd displays.

    I'd still love one.

  • buy my contax g1 with zeiss 28mm

how much body only? And how much with lens?

  • I've added links for buying older cameras, to the first post of this thread.

Meanwhile, while looking around, I saw this. It needs a nice home.

  • Would.

  • Though *if *I were to throw money towards a MF SLR I'd much prefer Mamiya (in the 'sub-Hasselblad' price range) to be honest.

  • Does it have the green label update?

    Yes

I'd really like to sell as whole thing but £120 for body with mr.zhou case and £250 for lens bot great condition welcome to have a look, will throw in whatever films (a couple of Ilford delta 3200 i think) I have left with. £350 for the whole package. Selling due to lack of usage and need to pay for post crash dental treatment.

Thanks for those links - v useful. Found a lens I was after.
    Fine work chap.

  • One year ago in Korea. Amazing how 3 weeks of hard slogging can be condensed down to, well, not that much.

  • Shit, those are really nice. Love the crates.

  • I love the shot with the apartment blocks.

  • ^^Hurry up with a book, or I will be forced to buy prints :)

    that cherry blossom/skyscraper one

  • This!

Although not from Korea, I can relate to this being from Mumbai.

  • Top work there, cracking photos. What film / camera?

  • all fantastic, but the last 3 really notch it up for me.
    there's a theme in there.
the crates is a beautifully composed image, and the decaying roof / trees (#2) is super seductive, but there's so much story to the last 3, something about making new territories in landscapes, the nature of living in these brand new highrises with the brand new allotments and polytunnels, and the physical reality of how the material to make these places comes from the land. really great.

Thanks for taking the time to write that, I appreciate it. I'm glad to hear you make reference to the story/theme because that's the biggest challenge with this kind of work, how to organise something together that's aesthetically up to par but also whose theme is coherent but also equally not too heavy-handed or indiscernable. I haven't showed this new work in public yet, but I'm trying to get people's feedback at multiple levels to see what their reactions are (from post-grad MFAs to London cycling forums :)

The challenge then becomes how to extend this narrative in a book across 40-80 images, but that's one for next year. C'mon Dan, you want the limited edition version of this!

  • It reminds me of Jens Assur's project 'Africa is a great country' that's being shown now. The large scale photos of modern urbanism seemingly in the middle of nowhere.

Would love to have a book of this, let us know when it's out

  • ^^ you're welcome. in a book there is also room for the beautiful images (ie. crates) as well as the story-heavy ones :) and I think scale (and pacing/rhythm) is important. understanding a place through small details and moments as well as the epic images, those can get quite tiring to look at if there are lots, it's good to be able to pause the mind on something more simple.

  • The highrises remind me of some photos I saw in an exhibition at Somerset House yesterday - http://www.somersethouse.org.uk/visual-arts/the-syngenta-photography-award-exhibition

I know it finishes tomorrow, but it's online here: http://ruralurban.syngentaphoto.com/

  • ^ looks good might pop along today!
