  • Never used a Rondinax though, I might have to look for one the 'bay. They look quite nifty. Good shout

For 35mm there is even a little Agfa box called the Rondix. It smaller and does not even use a spool but lets the film just slush through the chemicals-- something like dip-and-dunk in the closest of quarters. The Rondix was tiny and much cheaper than the Rondinax. It works by depending upon the scratch resistance of then newer emulsions (1950s)--- the Rondinax was originally introduced in the 1930s (production ended in the 1970s). None of these boxes were especially cheap. With 40 years into series production and a number of OEMs (Leitz, for example, sold them as well for Leica film development) a large number were nonetheless sold. The machine proved itself ideal for camping and developing film on vacation. The last of the Rondinax 35U boxes (lighter in weight and no longer Bakelit) sold for over 100 DM which, together with the popular demand for color to which its ill-suited, put them out of the market (not to mention the decline of Agfa Munich)...

  • Rolleicord, Velvia 50. The soon-to-be-redeveloped Donaldson's School for the Deaf in Edinburgh.

  • @i_am_lono: also, if they were side by side, would the position of the doors echo each other? (I am sure there is a proper way of saying that) I can't tell on a monitor but I can just imagine them on a wall.

  • ...pool shot is great lono!

  • (From the hip)

    (Not from the hip)

  • Another one from the above series, Mamiya RB, Provia 100.

A crude mockup, but they do indeed match hoefla.

Prints available if anyone wants one.

  • Wider view of the Donaldson's pool, this time with GIRLS. Cropped Velvia 100 on the Bronica.

  • Nice stuff everybody, some lovely colours on this page.

Said that pinhole is pretty sharp!

  • Just tried out Asda's scanning service for the first time. Unvelievably low res images - 400 x 600px! I asked the guy serving beforehand, in various different ways, what res the scans would be and if he could set up the machine to do high res please, but he just kept saying "whatever you put 'em in at is what they come out at". I don't think he understood the difference between film and digital cameras, which is suprising if he works in a photo lab. Anyway, I got some good ones I think. Would look much better if properly scanned though

  • Unvelievably low res images

That's interesting, every time I've used them there's been two folders on the cd, LORES (600x400) and HIRES (1840x1232).

  • Ah, thanks for the heads up, there is indeed. I just ran the CDVIEWER and couldn't see anything but the low res files. Cheers!

  • DIY 4x5 Pinhole | Ilford FP4+ | 10 sec | Kodak XTOL 1+1 | V700
