  • Stadium picture is 10/10 wools, that's brilliant!

  • 2 and 4 (it's the tower in the hand that makes it) are killers.

  • Agree with the above - too good.

  • Rotating because it's looks tilted,
flipping because it looks more 'stable' that way,
and it's more pleasant to 'enter' the picture (as most of us are used to reading from left to right).

I don't think I'd accept that as a general rule--I haven't experimented with it, and I'm just speculating here, but perhaps 'entering' the picture from the ship, not the sea, is part of its effect on me. The reason why I commented on it is because it made me feel that particular sense of vastness, and I could imagine that that would be compromised if it was more 'pleasant' to look at.

I like the composition. Forget the rules, but why change anything here? Even the horizon is horizontal. A complete image imo.

  • @wools: agree, great shots. particularly 1 and 3. 4 is cool, at first looks like you went back in time. scene from a movie.

  • Stadium shot is awesome wools.

The 'punch' on those pictures is what makes me miss shooting film.

  • Fack, that stadium shot is top drawer. Well done!

  • I'm a skinflint, can anyone recommend anything a bit cheaper than Fuji Velvia 100 at £8.99 a pop?

  • Ag sell Agfa precisa for 3.85 a roll, 35mm. Was looking the other day, I can't justify £9 either.

Never used it though so there might be a reason it's 3.85.

    Oh, unless you meant 120

  • No i did mean 35mm, i'm almost tempted to see if i can get a 120 range finder based on the price of that film though

  • Anybody use fomafoto?

£21.60 for 50 sheets of foma 100 delivered, seems silly cheap

  • Just got a roll back that I have barely any recollection of shooting, it's from a big night out. Some good ones from the walk back home in there, good to see i didn't waste the whole roll on random crowd...

    The two good ones...

  • i've just had my first roll of 35mm film developed! some of them came out really good i'll scan them and have them up here later tonight

On this note, where does one get cheap Provia these days?

  • On this note, where does one get cheap Provia these days?

I don't due to the excessive price. Same goes for any slide film really. Shot a couple rolls recents and LOVED the results but one roll was given to me and the other from a big batch I got for cheap (28 rolls for £21 - I wince at how readily I shot it).

  • I'm sure I have some expired slide film which I am never likely to use. my metering is just not good enough and what the fuck do I with them anyway, beautiful as they are, I need negs for prints. some of it is pretty old as given to me by someone else. none of it refrigerated but not kept on windowsill or anything. anyone interested? think it's mostly/all 120. will have a rummage next time I'm home.

  • If there's any 35mm, hit me up!

  • off to Paris tomorrow, packed a fuckload of bw as ill be spending a day on my own
