Also worth a visit is the Brian Duffy exhibition at the Idea Generation Gallery. A man I was lucky enough to have known and admired. Check out his Benson & Hedges adverts done years before Photoshop was around. His son Chris has worked hard pulling together the surviving body of work.

for reference - where from?
Digitalab in Newcastle. Usually only get negs developed there but thought I'd get prints and scans as I've no longer got access to a slide scanner. Feelsbadman.hpg

I couldn't tell what you meant from your examples but I can totally see what you mean about them using some sort of sharpening mask or something.
Total bullshit.

And, as ever, great stuff from MetroLandman. Love your shots. :)
While I'm catching up here... I saw the Vivian Maier exhibition and went to the John Maloof talk during the LSPF. Really looking forward to seeing more of Maier's work - especially the photos she took on her travels. She led a weird and wonderful life and it'll be cool seeing the collection unfold. So much yet to be seen.

This thread makes me want to start shooting film more, but I love my 5D :(. Saying that I'm off to Morocco later this year and I doubt I'll be able to afford a new digital compact which means I'll be taking my trusty XA2 with HP5 and mju ii with colour. I don't really like to look very touristy if I'm wandering around markets that kind of thing.
Here's a couple from a while ago;

Thanks, it was shot on Fuji Superia 200 that I got cheap on 7dayshop.

^ beautiful colours btw - print or scan?
all I seem to have used for the last 3 years or more is Fuji Superia 200 and Reala from 7dayshop. apart from when Silverprint were selling expired boxes of Reala supersupercheap.
think I fancy switching to b+w for a while, never really done much of it. not disciplined enough but it might be good for a change.

Found a roll of film in my grandfathers old voigtlander last week - no labelling but he thinks that it was an agfa from the 50's. What are the chances of the film having pics on it?
How should I develop it - do I give it longer? -

Any opinions on Spectrum Photo Labs (aka blackandwhitefilmprocessing.co.uk) vs Peak Imaging for B&W scans?
I've been using Spectrum so far and the prints are fine but the scan quality seems variable to me. I have a roll to get done today - tempted to pay a few more squid to
get them done at Peakinstead just for comparison.See two 100% crop attachments. These are consecutive frames on a roll of Fujifilm Acros 100ASA. Could it just be related to development pushing and pulling to correct exposure?
Edit: peak don't accept secure payments. sad.

Could anyone give me some advice on my rather ambitious camera project.
I recently got a batch of fp100c film (thanks Extra) and I've sourced a old polaroid 105 camera to take some pictures. Unfortunately as the camera is old and was cheap off ebay the electronics are a little shot. The shutter sometimes works, and it sometimes doesn't, hardly useful.
So anyway I'm going to attempt to get working in a different way. The easiest way would be to create a pinhole camera, still possible, I'll just need to calibrate the hole on a DSLR to calculate exposure times. This won't be too much trouble. The other way would be to use a light meter - are there any cheap light meters that go up to f100? (approx for a pinhole)
My other plan is to convert the camera to use a large format lens with a shutter built in. I have sourced such a lens for peanuts on ebay and thankfully it works! It's an old Anaston Lens with a Pronto shutter. The only think which I'm unsure about is focussing. The camera has no way to focus manually other than just trying some film out and seeing if it works. I'd ideally not do this and try to set up the lens matching the focal length. It's a 105mm lens, what point of the lens is it best to measure from? The aperture blades? Googling the subject was less than informative.
Sorry - long post
i think i might try to go to that, i was so intrigued after i saw a news report about her
