  • Aye, I've just packed 3 rolls of Delta and Portra 400 for a few days away with it

  • This experimental thing is such bullshit from company's, impossible project use to use that term too. If its experimental why is it for sale then.

Decent they are sending a new roll tho i suppose, impossible werent like that at all

  • I completely agree, expensive novelty really.

  • Cinestill always strikes me as hipster tax.
You can buy 400ft of Kodak stock for £150, which is enough to load something like 80 rolls if you do it yourself. Silverpan will develop for £7 a roll in the proper chemistry. That's less than just buying a roll of Cinestill on its own, plus it avoids this intermediate stage of stripping remjet off it before you even shoot it, which seems where loads of the problems lie with dodgy results.

  • Nik & Trik sell rolls of 500t for £5 and offer dev too. The results look far better than cinestill.

  • Five quid?!

Edit: misread and thought you'd written 500ft for £5, haha

You're comparing a new small town organic lemonade business with Coca Cola.

  • Except I dont want to drop £150 on film stock in one go, nor do i want to shoot 80 rolls of the stuff. Its not hipster tax, theyre doing all the heavy lifting for you

  • You can buy 50ft lengths for £40 or so too, so not as much outlay.

My point being, it seems most of the problems people have had with Cinestill come from pre-removing the remjet, and it's still being cross processed, essentially.

If you want to shoot motion picture stock, buy motion picture stock. It's got better latitude than Portra.

  • I understood the very useful feature of CineStill is that I can just have it developed easily at every fucking photo lab.

  • Yes, you can. In C41 which is cross processing, as it meant for ECN2.

  • Tina, a contax T3 went in 8 mins on WY cameras for £999 btw

  • Bought a tiny Yashica Acclaim 100 - APS film for dirt cheap so Im going to get some film and run it through, local lab develops APS still but I want to scan it myself using an epson 4490, anybody scan their own APS film before? any advise?

  • For various reasons Ive ended up with a Pentax K mount 50/1.7. Id like to get a cheap body to throw it on to see how I get on with pentax'. Whats not going to be utterly shit for <30 quid? Ive seen an MV on eBay for 18 quid which does aperture priority

  • There are 3 on leboncoin between 750€ and 950€ right now (one black).

  • Same as 35mm scans . You just have to make custom frames if you did panoramic shots.

  • leboncoin

Not everyone is lucky enough to live near a boulangerie :'(

  • I can be the middleman and put croissants in the package.

  • I’ve just put a k1000 on eBay but I can’t check the light meter so I’m selling as not working. I just bought an ME super body for about that and I think I saw another one for not much more.

  • Tri-X @1600 again.

Didn't expect much of the first photo, on top of car park and took a city scape. Love what Tri-X has done to the church though, made it look very sinister

    Thank you, I know.

My point being it's convenient to shoot CineStill as you can have it developed everywhere, for cheap - as opposed to regular motion picture material.

  • Sadly Cinestill (vision 3 shot with badly removed remjet) is just a bit shit. But hey it’s only £14 a roll.

  • Is this an ongoing issue with the film?
Haven't shot any CineStill in the last months myself, but never had any issues in the past.

  • That it’s shit?

    Yes.

  • It’s got better latitude than Portra

No, it absolutely doesn’t have better latitude. It’s a different stock, and the choice is a matter of preference.
