  • Olympus Mju-II Zoom / Lomography Lady Grey B&W 400. First few are from Suomenlinna, the later ones from Hela Torsdag 200 -brevet. My first roll of Lady Grey and I'm really happy with how the pictures turned out.

  • haven't shot film in ages, shot about 4 rolls over the last month (mainly over 1 weekend of bikepacking with @Jules and @PhilDAS for the brother in the wild event) and love it again, forthcoming spam!

  • Nice hp. Is the first lakeside!?

So my EOS 300 is waiting for me at the post office. Haven't got the cash to buy a lens till pay day. Any reason I can't use my girlfriend's 18-55mm that came with her 70D? My camera is EF, I believe her lens is EF-S. Can't tell whether that matters. #noob

  • See up-thread. EF-S is made for cropped (1.6x) sensors on digital cameras. EF-S (layman's way of remembering - S = Small sensor). You can try, but it won't work. Film cameras need EF.

  • Are we posting red things? Chucked in a couple others at the end as well because why not

  • Ah, missed that. Thanks pd. Will take the Mju for this trip in that case.

    Lovely @maxmurmann

  • Yeah you can't use EF-S on EF bodies. Check out the 50mm f/1.8, 28mm f/2.8, 24mm f/2.8 lenses as well, I think they'll be cheaper than the 40mm. I'd guess that you can get the 50mm f/1.8 for £50 if you keep a close eye on eBay.

And as noted up thread it seems to be cheaper to buy a camera with lens attached! So keep an eye on those too and resell the body (or keep it like I have for some reason).

Edit: Do you live in London? I'm sure there's some kind person down there who could lend you a lens for a trip.

  • use my girlfriend's 18-55mm that came with her 70D?

..unfortunately not - but your girlfriend will be able to use your EF lens on her 70D!

  • Thanks guys. I am in London but am boarding a train at 11 this morning unfortunately.

  • Nice hp. Is the first lakeside!?

Thanks, lots more to come! and noo, it was along the basingstoke canal path somewhere, on our way from London down to the new forrest.

  • My first roll of Lady Grey

I like these, especially the first and third one.
Great tones, and looking at them makes me want to go on an adventure.

If you like that film you could also buy Fomapan 400 (it's the same emulsion apparently, and a bit cheaper)..

  • Yeah sorry I meant Lakeside Country Park of darts fame. It's on the Basingstoke canal. Pretty sure it's lakeside.

  • scanning shenanigans (adjusting negative tray during preview)

  • It's that Fuji stuff now by the way (the ISO 400 "industrial")..

  • Thanks, these two were my favorites as well. I took the latter while riding on a bumpy gravel road and I'm quite surprised it came out so good. I actually already bought a roll of Fomapan 400, can't wait to try it out.

Also, my Canon T90 feels like it's dying, EEE errors are more and more frequent. I traded an old three speed Prior freewheel to a F-1, it's quite a hefty piece of kit and a huge contrast to my T90 and EOS-1.

  • Fuck the T90. Keep the strap though, that looks nice!
    : ]

Yeah I imagine the F-1 will take some getting used to, I loved shooting it back in the day though.
    Have fun!
