  • ..and now for something completely different -

@mi7rennie - was thinking of you when I saw this vehicle as I thought that you might be able to tell what this actually is.
Is it some sort of "quad"?

  • Haha, I don't know specifically but it looks like would be a lot of fun off road. Probably a motor bike engine in the back.

  • I think I shot quite a few rolls of that a year back. I was in HK and it was pretty cheap. Both the 100 and 400. Will try and find some of the pics.

  • Wow, that's quite a nice self-portrait..

  • Thank you for the examples!

I did also have a look at a bunch of pictures shot with these films on flickr, and got the impression (a bit like with Agfa Vista as well) that they seem to suit the smoggy light in asian cities quite well!

Seriously, there's something muted going on but at the same time it's "fresh" in a way, and then of course they love to saturate red.

Curious to see what they look like over here. Not getting my hopes up too much as I've never quite gotten along with Vista..

  • I quite liked Vista, not as much as one of the older Fujicolors I had in bulk, but it was quite okay. It was a pain to scan sometimes though.

Suppose if I sorted out a film scanner again I could buy some chemicals to do b&w, got a roll from a couple years ago sitting on the shelf still needing a dev. Colour at home just isn’t viable any more.

Shame I sold the V700, it was a great bit of kit for the price.

  • Every now and again I get tempted to take a couple of rolls to Jessops for a 1hr dev+scan, it's nice to be able to do that occasionally. Shoot a roll, drop it off at Jessops, have a coffee and go home with the results. Sometimes the results are ok, although the XP2 scans take a bit of work in lightroom.

All Canon EOS 300x with the 28-105mm f3.5-4.5, XP2 and Ultramax

  • Looking good!

    First one is my favourite..

  • Shame local Jessops is gone. Could probably go see if ASDA still have their lab. Haven’t used it in years (for obvious reasons).

  • I work in Woking and I fortunately have Harpers Photographic. It's £7.99 for Dev + Scan + CD which I am very happy with. Noritsu scanner. High res scanning too which I believe the likes of Snappy Snaps charge extra for. If anyone is near Woking then I highly recommend them. Really nice bunch. In other news just bought a standard EOS 300 for £7.00, just to see if I actually like carrying around an SLR. Just need to fight someone on here for a 40mm lens now ;-)

  • .

  • Gonna sell it to buy my Zipp 3000 front?

  • Haha nah I'm good ukno, I've got two already :-)

  • Yea but 3’s a crowd!

Might put it up for sale properly later. PX delivery came in a wheel box so wouldn’t be too upset to post it now.

Just had a look at my RB67. What a monster, should try use that too sometime.

  • RB67

the mirror slap that shakes the earth™

  • Nahhh brah. RB67 thwips up. Nothing like the bone shattering of a Pentax67 or other mf slr’s. Pretty sure 35mm Zeniths are louder.

  • Besides, only the RB has wise angle lenses.

  • To be honest it's been a while since I last used one, but I remeber it being quite a ruckus pressing the shutter on an RB67..

  • Lovely. That red!
