The filters certainly adds drama to the sky, and it's something I've been meaning to try out.
The bottom half of tree picture looks a bit flat in comparison, that's something i'd definitely work on in post if you're going to use filters -

For sure, these are really OTT. I think I was using a 4-stop GND plus 3-stop red filter

Oh, actually you can't see this in that small jpg, but it says "moby dick" (beneath the teeth), so it reminded me of your nice print..

Did I order one? -

Anyone ever had an issue with an Olympus Mju I intermittently not focusing to infinity? Most close up shots seem fine but around 50% of the shots I would expect to be focused at infinity seem to be set to the minimum focus distance.
-

Mine does that quite often, quite soft on landscape shots. It’s presumably the IR focus beam thing not finding anything to lock onto, it’s not really the best camera for stuff like that I’ve found
-
• #15888
It will default to infinity.
They are quite small cameras. Is a finger or the clamshell door nudging over the ir window or into frame?
-
• #15889
Landscapes won’t be soft at min focus, the’ll be completely obliterated. This sounds like a different issue tbh.
-

It ranges from obliterated to being able to make out shapes but no detail. I'm fairly sure I've been keeping things clear of the front but I think I'll try and run a test roll through it all of stuff at infinity and make 100% sure nothing is in the way to eliminate that.

@mi7rennie If I remember rightly, do you have a Rolleicord ?
Did you change the screen to increase brightness ?I have a Rolleicord III and considering getting one of the Rick Oleson screens. I can sort of get by with the stock ground glass screen, but something a bit brighter would certainly help.

A test sounds like a good idea.

• #15893
Yeah, I have a VB with an upgraded screen, it works well for me. I found cleaning the mirror also made quite a difference.

Plus one for Spectrum. Used them a few times for a few bits now. (Not E6 mind you) They tend to be pretty quick and are super helpful.

I somehow managed to run a roll twice, through two different cameras, eight years apart. Weirdness ensues.
