Lots of options. Bit sad to make the summer BBQ another South Drinks outing x10, but they are being accomodating.
We could get the upstairs space at the regent, and not for the £100 normal price, but everyone's going to be outside aren't they?
Also, now its not in my office garden, it could be a Saturday afternoon / night? Or is that changing the goalposts too much?

afternoon sesh, into the eve/night could be good

honestly I would prefer a park over any bar but if it's going to be a bar then C&H would be cool. Perhaps we can buy a keg at discount from them or have a drinks deal for the night?

I smell jacqui gettin' her events hat on.....
-
• #207
is there any way we can get the C&H bods to use chug it's huge bbq to burn our meat on?
-
• #208
jacqui most parks you can't bbq on at all, so a bit inconvenient for eating anything apart from chips and dips

Maybe, that guy Steve was happy about the idea last night when i told him about the oil barrel barbie. Its just that they have to keep their chef on just for us, to stop us killing ourselves with food poisoning and then blaming the C&H.

that's true, however london fields is lenient in this respect. I have used lilttle disposable BBQs on multiple occasions and the park keepers are generally ok with it so long as you have the BBQ above the grass so you're not scorching the lawn.
(and clean up after yourself of course!)

I'll take your word for it, I see the signs no bbq's and think maybe having a bbq is a bad idea

But we're thinking more a hollowed out Chieftan tank filled with burning ship timbers and dead horses.

fucking right! I'd much rather pay someone to cook the food, cooking is a pain and gets in the way of the drinking

So how many people are coming to this?
Is it confirmed for the 10th????? -

Seems like this has moved from a garden bbq to a pub thingy. How far would people be prepared to go, to have a garden bbq? Is the Catford/Sydenham border too far? Big garden there that would need to be cleared a bit, but longish also so lots of bikes could fit across the side. It might be just me, but I think garden barbies are hard to beat.
Obviously, if there is a consensus, then the garden would need to be cleared away this weekend. And, since its someone's private garden, we all cough up a bit each (£3-£5), so that the whole thing works out (elctricity for music, toilet, etc?).
I think the opportunity to drink what you like and have a good old cook-up, would be good.

Well we need to make a decision today - the Coach & Horses were calling me this morning asking whether we'd made up our minds. I'm not technical enough to do a new poll, but we could have one with the options of
A) Coach & Horses
i) they'll cook our food
ii) we get our own music / space / beer
iii) they seem to like us
iv) but its a pub - the upside being, if the weather's shitty we can go upstairsB) The Park
i) We'll cook our food
ii) we get our own space / beer but harder with music
iii) we might get stopped a la East Drinks in Vic Park
iv) if the weather's shitty we can go to a pubC) GA2G's garden thingy
i) we''ll cook our food
ii) we get our own music / space / beer
iii) we seem to like usDeadline of 5pm this afternoon people?

Hey Snowy, are you sure you can bring your own beer into the C+H? That's pretty unheard of. And if so, what's in it for them?
-
• #224
Ah noes, we don't get to bring our own beer. Sorry, bad multi tasking.
VB, can we have a temporary sticky thread for this if you're watching? -
• #225
I vote PARK.
The only reason we got stopped at east bbq was the climate people and their REALLY loud music at 11pm. Before that there was no probem.
i also like the C&H idea for the bbq. can we have roast corn ;)
