Hasn't that now changed into some thing else all over again - Porto-African something? I'll swing by tonight and check (in fact Graham, are you in SW9 or Paris?)

I'm in Paris at mo but was back at the weekend....went down to The Country Fayre at Brockwell Park actually, Omar was singing, WTF?! anyway...
I think it's still SouthSide BUT if you go 100yds up the rd they've been doing up The Telegraph for the last few months, they may be ready and up for suggestion? Also there's a new Afro type bar/restaurant being built right next door.... -

Sadly I’m not going to get the Walworth venue with the garden in time for August 10th – the council can’t sort out the lease quick enough and kindly offered to charge me £3k for one day’s liability insurance to have us lot on the premises. Sadly my pockets don’t go that deep.
So, options:
a) A park somewhere – and BYO booze and barbecue on Chug_It’s monster - as originally discussed at the start of this thread – maybe at East Polo?
b) The Coach and Horses (south drinks) have just called offering the entire ground floor, outdoor space and chef to cook our own food (plus fridge space) for £30, with our own music too
c) Another pub somewhere – hopefully with outdoor space etc. - mango landing or Southside?
d) A benevolent forum person offers their garden to the rabble…
Waddyareckon? Anyone got any more sensible ideas?

C&H sounds cool. Is there 'outdoor space' at the back or just those tables out front?
-
• #184
That's very good of the C&H
-
• #185
C&H - pretty much whatever we want - upstairs, downstairs, front (which is what I asked for, as frankly most people will be out there), or the smaller space at the back.
We can rearrange the furntiure at the front too if we want. They get so much trade from us that they're offering the above in lieu of thanks. The only thing they couldn't do was let us cook cos of their hygiene certificate.

we could easily book the pub and fill it for the day, they could say it's a private party. prety sure they would not lose any money :)

You got the first round murtle...cheers matey.

C&H it is then I reckon!

The Coach & Horses have always been very hospitable to us southerners, especially in contrast to the sour MISOG who runs the Trinity. Sounds like a plan? Maybe Andy could still get them to use Sir Grill-a-lot if he wanted to? Just thoughts.

I'm good for whatever, is there an option of having the BBQ on the outside patio bit?
I'm all up for the party but what about the locals? Will the wine sipping lady and the man with the dogs not be miffed if we take over their pub on a weekend?
Are the people out East okay with the location?
Too many questions from me but sounds like a plan though for sure!

Move it east & start early.
I have to be somewhere in the evening ;] -

do it in a park. then we can cook our own food, organise mini races and such. victoria park maybe?
-
• #193
I like that idea.
-
• #194
But then I've stated my reasons above :]
-

Jacqui mentioned moving east drinks to Victoria Park one night. Why don't we do a big weekend BBQ in the park?

My old boss is part owner of The Prince Regent, not The Regal, and yeah they do room hire upstairs, but the place is well pricey, and room hire is more on top.
Coach and Horses is great, I like it there.

well up for the CH idea
I love them.not so up for anything involving hipsterville, I think enough goes on up there already. (and riding that distance hammered doesn't appeal)

I like the C&H idea, I have a lot of love for those guys, and they have a lot of love for us.

what hood is hipsterville?
What about checking SouthSide - the old George IV? They've got a fixed BBQ and loads of space inside and out...
