looks ok?
or:
http://www.swobo.com/catalog/product_info_m.php?cPath=1039_1040&page=2The top is still from the US, if we end up going there then I would rather use Portland than someone who charges $100 for the same sort of jersey.
Swobo version is short sleeved and I don't think that they do embroidery.

Count with me in this one.
I will rather wool, cotton is one of the worst plants, need shit load of water, and like textile is not that amazing. Wool is wicked, and I don't thing the poor sheep in NZ, have that bad life, and understand me here, they live in the montains and stuff but they are sheeps!! -

Can't you use vegan materials. Damn my ethics!
I have it on good authority that the grease used as a rust-inhibitor on brake/gear-cables from factory is lanolin, from sheep wool.
Therefore, the only vegan bike is a brakeless fix!

Correct me if I am wrong but while in a chrysalis the "worm" is undergoing a metamorphism and effectively digest it's self into a soup of proteins and then rebuilds it's self. I am sure there is some complicated biochemistry in their. So while it's in it's soup phase is there anything still alive? Not a philosophical question of where consciousness is e.t.c but a literal question of wheather that soup corisponds to the criteria of lifeforms. I can't remember what they are but I remember reaction is one, and I think some form of respiration is another.

I think there are 4 or 5 requirements for an organsium to be deemed alive. Virus's are not alive for example.

Being a leather-wearing meat eater doesn't take you out of the debate, it just means you have a different point of view. my 2p is that killing animals is an unmoral act as only humans are conscious of their own existence. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway...... woop woop

This was discussed in a thread from September last year, didn't really go anywhere though, here was one attempt (the go fgss yourself slogan was dogsballs idea, I just made the picture for him)

I am not sure you can define 'life' at all, let alone with just 4 or 5 parameters. 'Life' is a notoriously difficult thing to define.

Don't want to interrupt the debate here but after a serious google sesh I've not found anywhere that does custom merino apart from portland (and woolistic, but they have no info on it). So it looks like if it's got to be merino it will likely be portland. Otherwise you're looking at acrylic, lycra etc.
I also had a read of a couple of portland jersey group buy threads. The dude organising the FGG one said it was a nightmare, but besides delays of a month or two he didnt go into why. They missed out a few jerseys which got posted on later and got one jersey's colour wrong.
All in all, as long as it's not time-critical and the masses respect whoever is in charge of the group-buy and don't lynch him/her for delays and faff, I can't see it being too much of a nightmare. I think the hardest part is getting the order together - dealing with 50+ people is always going to be harder than dealing with a single person at the supplier (The FGG guys had some hassle with late order changes and non-paying people). So if this was going to go ahead, it might be worth having a word with VB to see if there's any way he can knock together a page where people can order, specifying sleeve length, size and colour, and also send payment.
In case you haven't noticed, i'm super keen for this.

I know what you mean but I swear I have read some definition of sorts used by biologists to classify something as living or not. Like 5 basics tests. Not definitive but gives a good idea. Like I said a virus fails one of these test and is not deemed to be alive as such.

I agree you could probably use a set of tests to give a good guide as to what is alive and what is not.

I knew this vietnamese kid at school. He ate puppies
allegedly
Well said. I personally draw the line at exploitation of animal,s I'd never expect anyone else to follow my example as it's my choice for me. Not my vision of the way the world should be.
