I got a reply from the chap at Woolistic;
[SIZE=2]'for 40 pieces long sleeve jerseys with those letters on front and other one on back you can estimate about 65 British pounds. plus shipping from our EU warehouse.
production time is about 40 days if we have the wool in stock.
Payment is 50% down, remainder at time of delivery.
Remember you dont have to do 'stripe' across the chest. Get creative is you like! Its 100% custom, not off the shelf.'The letters that I asked him about were LFGSS on the front and HTFU on the back.
So it looks like it would be about £65 - £70 for the jersey and we need to get at least 40 people who definitely want one and will be willing to stump up half the cash. This could be a problem, although it would probably work out to about the same price as if we ordered them from the States when you figure in taxes and shipping.
So, does anyone have any other designs that they would like to submit, given the broadened possibilities that Woolistic have given us?

I think this is excellent, but will take a week or so to design what I'd like. The price seems very fair too, considering custom.

Yeah I think so too. It will be in 100% merino too which is perfect. Merino makes me moist.

But it is almost three times the price :o

@benanza - these people seem to be ethical and do custom merino wool jersies (Condor used them for their 60th anniversary jersies);
https://www.ewnr.com/site/index.aspI have one of those Condor jerseys courtesy of Rollapaluza IX - it's nice, but it does pong a bit if it gets wet, and when it's drying after being washed. Not superfine merino, but the superfine stuff doesn't last well.

I have one of these from Woolistic via Vintage Velos:
It was $120dorra for short sleeve - so £65/70 for full custom seems very good (relatively). They come up pretty figure-hugging, but has washed well over the last 6 months. Mine has 3 pockets on the back - don't think the long sleeve ones do...
@benanza - haven't had any luck with others of my suppliers in the far east, but i'm waiting for one more source to get back to me.

Of what?
If you mean the Portland ones you need to factor in the shipping from the US, taxes (which will be a fuck load) and the cost of embroidery (not part of the price I quoted when I was writing about them at the start). I can't say I know for sure, because I don't, but I can't see there being much in it once all of those things are taken into account.
If we go the Woolistic way shipping would be loads cheaper, no tax will be payable when they hit our shores because they are coming from inside the EU (or Switzerland) and that price includes the embroidery. Also we get to sleep easy knowing that they don't use sweatshop labour.

Nice one villa-ru and thanks for the info on the Woolistic jerseys, they seem ideal, although I want pockets but I'm sure we can get that arranged if it's the case that they don't come as standard.

Bringing this back to life, does anyone else have a design that they would like to submit?
I'm going to give it until next Friday then I'm going to get a vote going on which design people want to see on the finished article.
Don't forget that we are no longer limited by the traditional band around chest, the jersey can be whatever we like.
They look good, cheers Andy. I'm going to contact them to see what bulk deals they would be willing to do.
