  • These Olympics have blown my mind. Everyday there has been incredible events which have given me goose bumps.

I've said it before if this doesn't inspire a generation nothing will.

  • If feel the same. I've never heard so many justified superlatives used, all of which were that much more potent in view of the scorn and negativity expressed by many in previous weeks.

I just really hope this legacy they're banging on about really happens and that the cost of the 'party' doesn't mean we all wake up with a crippling economic hangover as many predict.

The government says the Games will deliver economic benefits of £13 billion in coming years - hmmm, that sounds a bit optimistic. But what do I know?

Oh and my favourite moment - seeing Cav and other grown men cry on the podium.

  • Don't get your hopes up love, this is a government you're looking at,
But yes, it has been a positive time for the country.
Now, who can tell me the mtb result please?

  • We crashed & burned on the second lap, someone else won

  • Hmmm. Thanks.the female rider posted a big enjoyment shout in a long.British Cyclingemail yesterday, guess we will hear todays news in a similar way.

I won't, and I sincerely hope we get more than a few token gestures (eg. the Mayor's 'Cycling Festival').

  • Oh and my favourite moment - seeing Cav and other grown men cry on the podium.

What did I miss - did he win the women's mountain biking?

  • I love the fact that there are now 900 people online when there's only been 700 all day.

None of you are watching the closing ceremony at all.

  • What did I miss - did he win the women's mountain biking?

    Real men cry, knightlancer ;)

  • None of you are watching the closing ceremony at all.
    I am, unfortunately.

    Unrestrained fuckery all round.

  • It's madness I reckon.

  • But what was Cav doing on a podium?

And what is the world going to make of this?

  • Fizz asked me whether the Olympics had made me proud.

    Nope.

But I love that there is an indoor velodrome on t' other side of London now. And I will admit to having deeply loved the action on the track and road.

Mostly the Olympics has re-affirmed to me the love of this sport of bikes and people.

  • I loved the sports.

This bit can just fuck off though.

  • Del Boy and Rodney in closing ceremony? barrel scraping

    Sport = good

    £13 billion on a fortnight's games = bad

  • I dunno, PSB are here to save it by topping whatever madness anyone else has come up with.

  • don't they look lovely june

fabulous harry, I love the feathers

  • Stomp can get screwed, them and One Direction. I really hope they don't wheel out the wailer Bush too.

  • I hope you don't mean kate bush.

  • Yeah, her noise grates on me.

    Nails on a blackboard.

  • Just as long as Paul McFuckingCartney isn't wheeled out again

  • Yeah, her noise grates on me.

    Nails on a blackboard.

    dead to me.

  • Bendy

  • its like the itv version of the opening ceremony.
