Imagine if his wife pops out their twins today. What a hat trick that would be!

Reckon I could've heard the crowd from the other side of the river if I'd turned the telly off. Amazing. What a guy.
Kenya, Ethiopia, forget about it - Hounslow, world capital of distance running.

27 Gold's now, I think we can get 30 if we get 3 in Boxing. Unlikely to get all 3, but there is a chance!

Team GB going for gold in the wet t-shirt competition?

Splendid all round. Was willing Mo home down the last 100 metres. Excellent too that so many kids have achieved so much across all sports for us.

I just got home from and watched Mo with tears of joy in my eyes - the London Olympics has been awesome - this photo above just says it all

Mo is my favourite athlete from these Olympics. I've seen him in the shops quite a few times, such a nice personable guy, always that huge smile, always a gentleman.
The bastard brought tears to my eyes, twice.

Tears in the eyes twice here too.
I had the nagging sense we'd underachieved so far as athletics went, even after last Saturday, as the medals dried up. But they said earlier we've 6 in total, with 4 of those being gold, while tonight bookended things perfectly. Plus we're best of the rest in the track and field medal table, behind only those we have no prospect of competing with anyway.

I can't bear to think that the Games end on Sunday night. I feel like all the joy is about to sucked from my life. What did I do before the Olympics began?

Favourite moments? For me, Peter Wilson winning the double trap. Why? Astonishing tension, wacky never-watched-before-sport, thoroughly admirable and humble sportsman with an unbelievable back story. Everything the Olympic Games should be rolled into one amazing final.

Apparently there is such a thing as post olympic home game depression. I'm already getting it. Out on the bike tomorrow. Depression thread >>>>>>>> :)

For me; Laura Trott's Omnium, Kenny, Hoy, Katherine Copeland and Sophie Hosking's Lightweight double-skulls, All of Usain Bolt and the truly magnificent Mo.

This girl did it for me, destroyed the competition and breezed through world record with plenty in the tank. (a real usain bolt in beijin moment)
Ilya did it too in the mens 94kg, outlifting the gold medal winner in the 105kg class in the process. Again with tons left over.

Kakakhstan was on fire.

Also lu haojie who continued to lift even when he severely injured his elbow and was in tears from excruciating pain. Managed to get silver, only beaten by his chinese team mate to gold and still a clear mile away from the next lifter.

I had this 'meh' thing when talking about the Olympics, but I forgot after 4 years how good the Olympics are. London has done a great job, the MC's have encouraged fans to be happy, the opening ceremony was funny, the sports has been good, heck even dub step style music awaiting events LOL. It's been a far cooler and more in touch games IMO.
