you have a national dish? Barbecues don't count either... that'd be like saying our national dish is frying.

Seriously... greasy, wet cod or haddock deep fried within an inch of its life served with soggy chips is disgusting. Grilled flake FTW!
Having said that, you somehow managed to invent mushy peas which are fucking wonderful.
I recently ate at a pub called the Barley Mow which was... somewhere... and prior to frying the fish, they dipped it in curry. It was filthy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_dishThat is a marketing gimmick for a new variety of Vegemite. A marketing gimmick that has achieved world-wide press for the product with such a shit name. I can't even get any and I'm talking about it.
Vegemite is still the most awesome toast spread on the planet.
Marmite + Guinness, Marmite + Champagne etc
My point? I don't remember.

You are the ones naming our food products and cooking methods.. so you must have an idea of their popularity.
Anyway, Englands national dish these days is chicken tikka masala.. which you may or may not do well. I have nothing to compare it to.
