  • We're not the ones whose national dish is fail.

  • And yours is iSnack 2.0 on toast?

  • Roast beef and yorkshire pudding is not fail.

Australia does not have a national dish. Wiki say's so.

    Kippers.

  • We're not the ones whose national dish is fail.

you have a national dish? Barbecues don't count either... that'd be like saying our national dish is frying.

  • ...and vegemite is not a meal

  • Seriously... greasy, wet cod or haddock deep fried within an inch of its life served with soggy chips is disgusting. Grilled flake FTW!

Having said that, you somehow managed to invent mushy peas which are fucking wonderful.

I recently ate at a pub called the Barley Mow which was... somewhere... and prior to frying the fish, they dipped it in curry. It was filthy.

  • You're eating the wrong fish and chips matey. Get yourself down to Padstow for some Rick Stein's... I guarantee you'll change your mind!

  • Closer to Balki, both geographically and economically, Faulkners on the Kingsland Road is jolly fine.

  • Gentlemen, I respect your opinions and will go to both of these places (except for the one in Cornwall). I just finished fish and chips for dinner. It was very good.

  • Closer to Balki, both geographically and economically, Faulkners on the Kingsland Road is jolly fine.
+1 to faulkners, corner of richmond road and kingsland road.

  • Im secretly hoping its shit :)

That is a marketing gimmick for a new variety of Vegemite. A marketing gimmick that has achieved world-wide press for the product with such a shit name. I can't even get any and I'm talking about it.

Vegemite is still the most awesome toast spread on the planet.

Marmite + Guinness, Marmite + Champagne etc

    My point? I don't remember.

  • you have a national dish? Barbecues don't count either... that'd be like saying our national dish is frying.

    Did I say bbq?

    Did I say vegemite?

You are the ones naming our food products and cooking methods.. so you must have an idea of their popularity.

Anyway, Englands national dish these days is chicken tikka masala.. which you may or may not do well. I have nothing to compare it to.

  • I had marmite and peanut butter on toast for breakfast earlier this very morn.

  • ...and vegemite is not a meal

    Well spotted.

    Gold star.

  • Roast beef and yorkshire pudding is not fail nor is it our national dish.

I liked mushy peas. We missed out on that one.

But they don't have potato cakes here. Or dimmies. Or flake. Or..

  • Kippers.

Um.. shouldn't have to travel to frickin Cornwall to get a restaurant to serve fish and chips.

  • I had marmite and peanut butter on toast for breakfast earlier this very morn.

Freak. BDW told me a similar story involving Promite.

Brits clearly have malfunctioning taste buds.

  • Kippers.

    Yet to try..

  • Pm your address and I shall forward you some.

  • Or dimmies...

    I had 3 dimmies :)

Put me down for some of andys kippers too.

  • Um.. shouldn't have to travel to frickin Cornwall to get a restaurant to serve fish and chips.
