  • I think the best use of tags is to tap the vast well of passive aggression that some members of this forum have at their disposal.

Without the tags this might boil over into tutting, pointedly re-arranging a newspaper, or in extremis leaving a pointed note.

  • Tags are a way to shit-talk without derailing threads in the polo forum.

(for the most part. Some people are just mean).

  • On the Vegan thread, Meat is Murder, Tasty Tasty Murder.

  • I think the ground rule for tags is: Keep it funny. There's nothing worse in tagland than humourless, insulting tags.

  • On the Vegan thread, Meat is Murder, Tasty Tasty Murder.

I'm vegan and I think that 'meat is murder' is an utterly stupid slogan; I don't mind if someone who thinks that it makes sense invents an equally stupid opposing slogan on its basis.

  • too right, still waiting for the hover over show writer thingie to work

  • Isn't "Meat is Murder" the whole point of veganism?

  • **<

  • Isn't "Meat is Murder" the whole point of veganism?

No--it's meant to be a vegetarian slogan. An (even more stupid) 'vegan' equivalent would be 'all animal products are murder'. Needless to say, neither 'meat is murder' nor 'animal products are murder' are true.

  • Loving some of the tags of late. Margaret Thatcher's Penis is a firm favourite lately.

  • Own up, Who is the phantom tagger.

  • yes please.

  • I copied the Norths tags into the '>>>>>>>>>>>>>>' thread and added a few more silly ones.

  • RIP tags?

  • Has Oliver ruined it for everybody?

  • Tiswas then copied the tags and added bum to them, I then copied Tiswas and Schicks tags and put them in the football thread.

  • Why?

  • The forum is now officially bum.

  • James, the chevron thread was a passing fancy. It would have sunk without trace after a day or two. The Football Thread is one of the most active on this whole forum. You may not like it. Others certainly do and it has built a strong community within the forum as a whole. People exchange banter there and are sometimes seemingly offensive to each other but generally in a pleasant and respectful way.

In the same way as Pisti and others should avoid the Depression thread, you should respect and avoid the Football thread.

People come to this forum for many reasons. One is enjoyment. Even if you don't like or understand the subject matter of those other people's enjoyment, don't constantly seek to deprive them of it.

    Thank you.

Hope the cold gets better soon. In the end, I was almost at the Park when I received a call and had to dash home for a conference call. Lovely day for a ride. Pity that.

  • I piss off to Australia for two fucking minutes and you bellends break the internet...

  • I am actually glad to see the back of tags. Too much nasty 'teasing' as well as some genuinely funny and bizarre-seeming stuff (where people tagged about a particular incident that you may have missed)...

Now we just post what we think.

  • Having fun Jose?!

  • I'm also glad to see the back of the tags- like many an anonymous system they brought out the worst in people.

Which is a shame, as sometimes they could be very very funny.

Hate to point out, the whole forum is anonymous.

  • Unfortunately, we all know who Neil is...
