Yeah, it all seems a bit too easy to game which means I won't race which means I can save $10 a month and watch Sufferfest or stare at the wall instead.

• #1328
I guess.
I was going to have a look at their payment terms to see if I can get it for a couple of months and then fuck it off when the real work starts.
-
• #1329
That's what I do. You can cancel at any time, no lock in.

Right, I'll look at their shizzle just as soon as I've adjusted my weight down to 62kg. I mean, at one point in my life I was that weight... so that's fine, right?

at one point in my life I was that weight
Bet that midwife got a shock..
-
• #1332
80kg at birth but I was an active child so went down to 62kg in secondary school..

Yes it was, and boy that looks serious

Has anyone got any tips for really long rides on a turbo? I manage 45-60mins and then have zero motivation to do anything. Am I missing a trick?
-
• #1335
hippy's top tip for really long rides on turbo: Don't.
-
• #1336
Develop a crippling fear of going outside to ride your bike.
-
• #1338
first off, why do you need to do longer rides on the turbo...?
Secondly, having a non existent boredom threshold helps (I've run two marathons on treadmills so I think I qualify) but structure, plenty of entertainment, plenty of nutrition and liquid and lots of fresh towels all help....
I think this is my longest turbo ever, but did quite a few 2 hour numbers this years....

Both sentences here are absolutely spot on. People take it too seriously, and IMHO the second someone does, they should give it up.
@hippy I "befriended" you using the mobile app, yep, that's me. Once you finish the course/race you go back to 'normal' mode until you decide to quit. All races do come up with a results board when you finish, but apparently the team who run the KISS races asked Zwift to turn this off.
Listen to me, sounding like an expert. That was only my second race, and my first was 10 months ago!!
@TTM one lap of Richmond is 10 1/2 miles. I knew this, but still went at 10 mile power, knowing I could ease off on the downhills, and put out a bit more on the uphills. Damn, I hate that final climb!

I had one of my brother's club mates pass me, and type out a message saying "good evening, Sam". At 180bpm and 100rpm all I could reply with was "LOL".

I'm looking at getting a turbo trainer for this winter. I've never used one before so keen on getting a nice entry level setup any recommendations? There seems to be a huge range so not to sure where to start.
-
• #1342
Pretty much satisfied with one of these, comes with mat, riser block and dvd. Has a good range of resistance.

so the wattbike is f-ing noisy (i had to switch subtitles on the tv), and pretty close to my garmin vectors at about 245w level 4 mag resistance and level 5 air resistance at 85ish rpm, other than than not much to say, I can't really comment on inertia or road feel, will put a memory stick in tomorrow and try to compare the files in a bit more detail, as I just had my watch synced to my vectors and for TP purposes they were close enough that I don't care.

I don't have nor will I ever have the mobile app.
I assume the friend request will appear in the normal app? Does it highlight when you're online or something?

Any black Friday bargains on Neo/Kickr/Drivo/Flux ?
-
• #1346
kickr snap is £399 everywhere ..
-
• #1347
Keen for direct drive.
-
• #1348
edit: too slow
-
• #1349
Fancied a direct drive myself though probably overkill for my needs and can't see any worth their salt for less than about 600 - there a couple around 400 with BF deals but none that jump out as being worth it :/

I would think that the Kickr v2 is a little new for a good discount
Yep, it's certainly not a level playing field. Some weight doping for sure and a lot of the smart turbos over read power too.
As long as you don't take any of it at all seriously, it's just a good motivator/distraction while you hurt your legs over winter.
