  • I only started learning how to make coffee a couple of months ago and have pretty much taught myself by practising on evening shifts since. I make these 2 towards the end of the evening yesterday and felt quite proud. So here they are, late on the left, cap on the right.

  • ^Nice job. Both from one jug? I'd call the one on the left a capp, it looks like it got the stiffer foam from the top of the jug. Right one looks nice and wet like a latte.

  • Where do you work Sumo?

  • he works at look mum no hands

  • well I say "works"...

Yeah both from 1 jug. I see that now, I must have poured the late first.
And yeah in LMNH, though you get Jaanis or Mick making you coffee until about 5 or 6 every day, I just step in in the evenings.

  • Thanks for that :)

Thoroughly pleasant and knowledgeable guy is Mr Hoffman.

  • Tried Sensory Lab twice this week, friendly service, good espresso but not entirely to my taste, finding it too fruity for an espresse/ristretto and at £2 a pop I don't think I'll use it on a daily basis.

  • Off to get an Aeropress today, excited.

    This guy!

Quite enjoyed watching that whilst sitting in waiting for the postman to arrive with my la Pavoni.

  • Go Matt go

  • please don't use crap illy coffee in it.

  • Just ordered a Porlex grinder. Got some o' them Bolivian Finca 'Magicmarker' beans currently topping Has Bean's chart at the moment too.

The only thing that gets me out of bed during the week is the promise of great coffee and dicking about with measurements in the kitchen.

  • Pro espresso grinder on ebay £140 BIN.

Not me, someone off the coffee forum I use, so probably well looked after.

You need one of these to make quality espresso.

  • Gulp. You have just done a very bad thing BC.

I am gonna be in so much trouble...

  • But seriously, thanks for the headsup.

  • You bought it?

    Good move. :)

  • Yup.

Assuming it arrives in working order my Gaggia MM will be going cheap on here shortly afterwards...

Mick and I are both very proud of you.

  • Apart from your spelling, that is.

    :D

  • I've got a Russell Hobbs Caffe Torino drip filter machine 1.5l (it has an alarm function which is awesome) for sale £15 or trade for a hand grinder.

    Looks like this:

  • Looking for a small plumbed in machine- please let me know if anyone spots one

  • Mick and I are both very proud of you.
