Got your priorities sorted then.

I'll be building a little area for the coffee machine to go on, plumbed in for it- which is why I need to get a little commercial unit now so I can make sure it fits.
The room pictured above will be the kitchen.

I've opened a new thread as I'm looking for a business partner for a new coffee venture in West London.
It's all explained there and I'd like to hear your feedback, hopefully to find the right person that wants to share this opportunity with me...Here's the link:

i bet you get lots of wishful thinking responses but i guess it's cold hard capital you are after?
leases must start at 30k upwards?good luck with your venture if you get the basics right (good coffee and don't be a nob to people) then you should succeed, especially if there is not much good coffee in the area.

Thanks Mr Smith.
yes you are right.
I'm not really after capital. I have some savings I want to put in the project. They are enough to cover the coffee side in a 30K premises basically.
It' s more about the use of the space.
Having a 9-5 mon-fri job, I'm focused on a area where it's busier at the weekend rather than weekdays.
It's more to use the space also during the week. What I mean is that not being an area with many offices I expect the coffee to be quite during the week and sell more at the weekend. Instead a bike workshop could be more busy during the week as well. I don't need to be involved in the "collateral" business to be honest.
It' s more to maximize the space rather than looking for cash. -

I got a couple of bags of Union beans from Freddo this morning.

I have a fucking hideous hangover.
Think I might resort to instant with a berocca tablet dissolved into it.
-
• #4566
Turns out I don't own any instant coffee.
I'll just rub some ground espresso into my gums.

on my third aeropress of the day (first two during the rugby this morning).
decided to change the method, 3 scoops of coffee while inverted, fill with off the boil water, stir, invert back over the cup, brew for 30 seconds, press. really good. actually got a crema this time which I haven't done before, must be the coffee to water ratio. I think in future I'll be doing 1 scoop and just under half fill with water then top the mug up with hot water.

My steam wand is leaking (no euph), I've tried all sorts of cleaning and descaling procedures, and it is better, but still leaks.
Godamnit.

I've just got my Spaziale Vivaldi S1 back from a renovation job. Had the steam boiler element, temperature sensor and a triac board replaced. All totally beyond my abilities so I was very happy to find a guy with the skills on the TMC forum that Bombcup is on.
So if you need any work doing I very much recommend him. He is just starting out as a business and he was great, he really knows his stuff.
There is a pretty cool thread on that forum of him completely renovating a KvdW Mirage for a commercial client http://www.toomuchcoffee.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=9149 -

Where is he based? i.e. would I have to post the machine to him?
There is a guy who specialies in the La Pavoni/Gaggia Factory models, but he is in the North East of England now, and the machine is heavy

He is in Brockley, I'm in SW so had to get cabs there and back with the machine as I don't drive.
-
• #4572
I can walk to Brockley in ~5 minutes, awesome.
Thanks!

I can't remove the shower screen on my S24. Some fknuckle has flared out the flathead screw and it's tight as hell. Tried hot and cold removal attempts but it won't budge. Any suggestions? I don't really want to risk drilling it out.

As the Vivaldi is back I'm now selling my 5 year old Rancillio Silvia. Good condition, well looked after and had no problems since I bought it. I'll throw in a good tamper, a milk jug plus 2 portafilters (standard and bottomless).
I'm happy to demonstrate, there are a few tricks to using the Silvia to it's best potential.Bombcup advised that a fair price for these second hand is £250.
I am also selling a commercial grade coffee grinder. It's a San Marco SM90. Again, Bombcup has advised me on a fair price being £150.
If someone buys both, I'm sure we could come to a deal. These together would set you up with great home espresso!
Pick-up only from SW20.
