Well as you can imagine it's a remarkably difficult thing to search on google – 'Amsterdam's best coffee shops' doesn't yield the sort of results I'm looking for on this particular trip...

'Amsterdam best espresso' instead?

I've been using a Zassenhaus hand grinder for a while now to grind coffee for a french press. It's great for a coarse grind like this but I'm wanting to use it for my stovetop and for a V60 filter. When grinding this fine it takes around 10 minutes to get the coffee through.
For this reason I'm looking for an electric grinder. The two I'm looking at now are the Krups GVX 231 and the Dualit 75002. I'm wanting to spend less than £50 but plan to buy used off eBay as opposed to new.
Any advice?
Fred off the forum has a dualit one for sale.

I can imagine. doing it without a filter in is bad enough.

Not very original, as the idea came from a confection product. A while back, and a couple of times since, I thought I'd like to try the taste of minty coffee. So I put an Extra Strong in a cup, and poured in the coffee, stirring till disolved. I anticipated a total failure, but it was rather nice. Strange, but nice. I recommend it for winter, or when one has a need for a very different taste sensation.
Peppermint, not spearmint.
Fox's XXX mints should be roughly the same.

Sitting outside two for joy right now enjoying an Ethiopian siphon. Lovely spot, highly recommended. Went to screaming beans, but on queens day and got served something filtered out of a screw top jug...looked like a good setup- queens day is probably not a good day to judge it on though.

grabbed a couple of flat whites from caravan yesterday and a bag of their house blend.
it's very smooth and creamy and tastes a bit like the FW from the cafe but i only make espresso at home.
would buy it again but not at £6 a bag when monmouth's house blend is 2/3 the price and i have yet to find anything i prefer more, it's good to try other coffees though. :-) -

My wife bought me the Handpresso Domepod for my birthday. Fuck yeah! I already had a Porlex mini ceramic grinder, so now that's me set for decent affordable espresso on Saturdays at lunchtime at work; and at lunchtimes during the week if I manage to get a new post with normal (family-friendly) hours.
Happy.
Loads, I just don't remember where..
